i like anthro-insects, for some reason i prefer less "humanity-looking" insect charaters, so yeah i think she's sexy ;) nice job

also, you need to add more tags makes images more asier to find and access

I adore a lot of insects, but I rarely get around to drawing them; too many other things to get done (most of my work only ends up in my DA gallery). That said, creating something like this, focusing entirely on the character, with no background, made it fun, and not too time consuming. I might have to do more.
...actually wasn't sure what other tags to add. *hides under a pillow*

This, by the way, is actually a foot-tall. I cut her out of the paper after I finished painting her, and now she's standing on top of my dresser.

I can agree on that, i also share a interest towards insects, but since the hand i use to draw is broken i cant do any... its ok that you dont have time, i have the same issue, very well pecies of art with a span of weeks or months between each other are preeferable than simple and boring art spam like crazy,
this image is a good peice in my opinon, very well made, the design, the lighting and all, kudos to you :).

i can add some tags for you, if you want *pets pillow*.

well, prety decent res for such a small peice of art, i dont want you to do more but i will be excited if you do so, i enjoy simple, intriguing and pleasant art, this is such a example in my opinion, you do what you prefeer tho.

I waffle a lot between complex drawings and simple character work, but they DO take a while (not helped by my doing a lot of my best work during downtime at work... XD ). The size of the work just adds to the 'fun', since my scanner only handles letterA4 paper, while I draw on 14x11 bristol. Makes larger drawings a pain in the neck to stitch back together after scanning them in pieces.
Feel free to add tags. =^.^=

How long is your hand going to take to recover? Injury downtime gets old FAST. =O_O=

i see, is not a issue if you take a long time in drawing them, all that matters is the end result, in my opinion, this draw does not look like hand draw, looks like a digital draw, looks very complex for a hand draw, but hey, looks good that's all that matters!
Btw, do you have more draws like this one?.

ok ill add some!.

i don't really know, most likely the end of the month my hand will be recover, but i'll decide to take a week more, i don't want to put my hand to work after recovery, thanks for asking owo.

Initially sketched with a cheap #2 mech pencil from Walmart, inked with a combination of fine point Sakura brush pen and a fine point copic brush pen, and colored/shaded with copic markers. Cut out with an ancient box-knife on a wood clipboard I've been abusing for almost a decade now. Scanned into photoshop, applied a color correction, and the scanner filled in the black around the character. There's so much blending fluid in the wings that they really were almost transparent for a while. :D

Not sure I could stand not having use of my hand for that long. =O_o= I could still do a fair bit of writing and programming, but to not be able to draw would send me straight out of my gourd. Take care of yours! *kitty hug*

Seems like a very complex process but if manage to give it that intresting look, is kinda worth it in my opinion.

When i was nothing but a little cub and i discover facebook and the fandom i started to make draws on paper and took a picture of the draw, then i color it on a app similar to paint (they look pretty garbage tho), then same process but instead of pictures i scan it as well, now i have a tablet with an app where i can draw...so i kinda get where your coming from! but here you manage to make it look decent and pretty to watch :) 15/10

well i agree, but the good thing is that i don't have to do nothing owo, i just sit and play games that only require one hand, right now i have a ton of ideas to draw, so i'm very excited to go and draw again. *Hugs back*

also you did not answer my question if you have mor draws?
Niekitty

It's complexity that comes with traditional techniques. Digital art can be gorgeous, but I've never been able to afford a good tablet to learn with. I've also found that I have more fun without an undo button; the little mistakes mean I have to find ways to hide them. =^^=

I keep trying to think of games I could play with one hand... a few text games come to mind. Possibly a few strategy games if it was my left hand that wasn't... eh... handy...

And yes! Sorry. I post a LOT more of my work on Deviantart. Specifically Niekitty.Deviantart.com
I've been posting there for... a... long... time... So you can pretty much dig back through my gallery and see everything I've done for the last decade and change. A lot of the older stuff is... showing it's age... XD

yeah, i can agree on that, i use to think that, until my mistakes made many draws look garbage for me, that why i bought a tablet to draw, i guess just like anything both have their ups and downs, and i think that requires a little bit more creativity to hide the mistakes wtihout affecting the draw too much, so my hat's off to you owo7.

hehe that's actually what i play, i gain a high end laptop on a raffle and i can play a lot of games, so im just chilling here using one hand...hehe, the dream if you ask me >wo.

oh thanks! i'll be sure to check it out! thanks for the link owo7.

Mistakes are part of what makes art interesting. I use a ruler with the pencil, to get accurate lines, but I don't use the ruler when I go over it in pen; it makes the edges feel a little less....... clinical. Another mistake I made ended up becoming a common technique for me: ink bleeding through the paper. That's how I get stains on the walls, or variation in mold or moss growing on something. I paint the colors I want on the back of the paper and let it bleed through at random.

I think I play a little of everything, but most of it requires two hands. Granted, some of the best games don't involve hands at all... but those aren't something you can do ALL the time... unfortunately...

mmm... i've never thought it that way, seems like a real challenge, i hade the "ink bleeding" thing a lot, and i think that one of the more painful, but is not a mistake, is something happens randomly tho.

what games do you play the most in what plataform? owo?
Niekitty

Ink bleeding is a combination of how 'watery' the ink is, and the thickness and weight of the paper. If you get to know the materials, it can be at least a little bit predictable (experimenting with expensive ink is a little nerve wracking, though...).

Lately I've been hooked on Into the Breach and Subnautica. I generally only play on PC, since I can do other stuff at the same time in some games. =^^=
You?

Yeah i know that, but you can say its an error...when it happens...and you did not want that to happened owo, i can't think why anyone would use expensive ink for that and it does sound nerve wracking, i'm not good at all under pressure, so i'm going to stay away from that technique uwu.

I'm currently playing fallout 4 for the first time on pc and i'm loving it! im also on Space Engineers fever! loving those games, i really want to get my hands on nautica, it seems like a really fun game! and what's "the breach"?
Niekitty

I started with cheap markers, but it took me about a week before I realized that the more expensive stuff was going to be a LOT cheaper since there are refills. Yeah, the cheap markers are $3 instead of $6-8, but an $8 refill is good for at least 10 refills. It evens out fast. I played around with some scrap paper and green ink, and once I felt confident in using bleeding as a tool instead of a mistake, I... did... this... https://niekitty.deviantart.com/art/The-Infection-is-Sp... All of the moss and wall staining is done by painting a bunch of ink onto the BACK of the paper and letting it bleed through (there's almost as much ink on the back as the front in a couple spots).

Into the Breach is... sort of... a pixel-graphics, turn based strategy game. Where you control giant robots and defend places from giant bugs. It's cute. And then something blows up in the wrong spot and you realize that it's a LOT harder than it looks... XD

Sorry for taking so long, a lot of work fell on top of me... what's the name of the ones you use? and where can you re-fill them? i did not know that was a thing uwu!.

oh yeah! that's the first draw i saw when you gave me the link to your DA owo, spooky úwù! i like it, i never thought of those tricks, pretty creative! i really like that idea, but they're markers you say? i thought they were pens.

Oh i see, i saw a gameplay, i'm not into those kind of games, i like strategy game in real time, like "total war" or "Man of war: Squad Assault" or games where you can let your mind create amazing things, like "Space Engineers", That's my jam! do you have more games? like multiplayer games? maybe we can play something owo.

I use Copic markers. There's a couple ways to refill them, but most places that sell them USUALLY carry bottles of ink for refilling. (if you get into Copics, buying a couple spare brush tips can be a good idea).
I typically use a Sakura brush pen (always fine point) for the lines. I'm going to try the Copic fineliner pens for lines once I can afford it. ...I also admit that a few of my drawings contain color placed with a basic highlighter marker. That linked picture used an orange highlighter for the faceplate of the helmet on the floor.

I've got something like 200+ PC games, just very few installed right now. My selection of multiplayer games is... kinda small. XD
