A new character I dreamed up for the fantasy setting created by Lenyavok !
Jean-Marie was born as Samuel Tanner. Soon after losing his parents, he joined a gang of pickpockets and learned how to steal without getting caught. He also worked as a con artist, using lies and his young age to trick people out of their money. At around 14 he started sneaking into wealthy people's homes and robbing them. At 16, he started becoming too well known around the city, and guards caught on to his tricks, so he left and joined a group of bandits that raided merchant caravans. In his first raid, the gang stole a large shipment of expensive clothing and weapons, but he was forced to kill one of the guards. He was overcome by guilt and couldn't sleep for a week.
He decided he would strike out on his own. Taking some of the loot from the raid with him, he became Jean-Marie Molière, a character to star in his own adventure. He views everything now as a performance, and is extremely theatrical, using diversions like smoke bombs and flash powder, and talking with his fake French accent like he's an actor on a stage.
Though he's incredibly stealthy, he can't help but announce himself to his victims after pilfering their valuables, and give them a theatrical bow before making his getaway, a habit that has gotten him captured more than once....
