To me this AltFurry thing is just one clique like the other. It feels like in the fandom independent thought doesn't matter as much as belonging to a group of folks who think alike. With the AltFurry the attempts of Gleichschaltung at least don't feel as obnoxious as those of their counterparts and their labelers don't hang as loose.

If that is the way it seems to you, I am kinda sorry that it seems that way.
AltFurry is a loosely held together group of all kinda of folks from all kinds of political views across the spectrum. Specifically it allows for freedom of speech, action, movement, association etc...
It allows for freedom of thought, and there are disagreements and stuff within AltFurry due to the diversity of thought in it.
Heck, AltFurry isn't even attempting any kind of Gleichschaltung, it only exists as a means of preventing a Gleichschaltung, essentially.
The extreme gatekeeping, trying to force people out of... well... furry somehow (even though to be a furry all you need to do is like anthropomorphic characters in different mediums and call yourself a furry, it is self identification).
The hate and disdain that more extreme groups have against all who want to just... be... and exist, and have fun. And NOT have identity politics forced into everything. Especially furry, which in the way it functions goes against the concept anyway.
