I don't post doodles here much. Long description ahead!

Their old names of being portmanteaus were from my high school days like “i gotta make them unique like no one ever was!”.

Their designs are still not finalized yet this one, but i’ll be using them as bases to tweak their designs for their future up-to-date reference sheets so that it won’t take much time to draw them. Their outdated reference sheets can be found here.

It was a hard decision to make because one minor idea can drastically change story/world building wise. I had to pick Malay or ethnic names that match up from their origin.

New names, same character.

Sunoga -> Suno (because it's weird that his old name sounds like a comparative degree)
Tubukal -> Mutya. Mutya means pearl Cebuano or Tagalog.
Verdynx -> Aline. New name is a corruption of Alin-ew, a Bontoc word for a tall tree that it's bark is used as fiber.
Laribon -> Bayu. Derived from Vayu, a Malay name which has Sanskrit roots meaning. Even though it means God of wind, he has no royal blood or whatsoever, he's just a commoner.
Aiponda -> Pon. New name is shortened from 'Ponkan', an orange hybrid of Mandarin and Pomelo.
Yukamici -> Yuuka (Had to change her origins of being inspired from Japanese culture because the resources for Ainu stuff is rather...lacking)
