The second one sounds trickier, especially with the negations. I'd immediately switch to the contrapositive: Love is present where disappointment is felt. Still sounds almost as complicated to me, but I bet Cooper's gonna do well by leaning on experience....

I have to say I'm in love with this turn of events although that's because impromptu was one of my best experiences in debate and it was amazingly fun!
