Tonight, Poly was walking home from the academy. She hadn't been on this world for long, and she'd just spent a very long while on a world that was almost entirely subterranean. The wind, the rain.. she hadn't experienced those for a long time.
The wind was cold and the rain was a tad harsh, but it was still nice. She loved the rainjacket, too, even if the ear holes were a tad impractical. All they did was get her ears wet, and she had to struggle a bit to poke her ears though them.. but it did help keep the hoodie up, at least.
Poly took a moment, and looked up, to the the sky. The orbital platforms, the moons, the infinite sea of stars. Around her were a billion souls, above her uncountable trillions. Sometimes, looking up (or around her) she felt tiny. But at that moment, she knew she was there, and she never felt bigger.
