For $5/mo or higher you'll become a SEER. That means you get to SEE STUFF like how a teacher teaches stuff.
• Seers will get exclusive updates about game development, sprites, music, hear-tearing frustration etc. I'll never make those dev blog posts public. Don't steal my sprites plz. • Once the game is presentable, Seers will get alphas, betas, early access etc. a month before everyone else. (Or longer, if I don't publish a new build for a month.) • If the game ends up costing money, Seers will probably get the game for free. If I can't find a way to automate this, I'll have to manually screen everybody somehow. • Seers will get exclusive polls to influence game content, like which supporting character gets a beach bikini pinup cough or second entire game mode cough. • Seers see any Patreon-friendly artwork a week or more before everyone else. That includes artwork for Night of the Vixen & any future games!

Under the Elysian Zodiac, the new year is smack dang in the middle of Myrrhdeas's constellation - it's her zenith day. Of course, in reality every constellation is directly above somebody's head at any given time, but shush you she's my New Year's mascot going forward. A PITY I FORGOT THAT UNTIL IT WAS ALREADY THE NEW YEAR.
That's right, I forgot, meaning it's not relevant to why I chose recently to start working on a game for her. I didn't remember my Zodiac was that way until I checked my notes, but WHATEVER LOOK! WORKING ON A GAME!
I know I said I was going to do a "personal challenge" with GameMaker, but I just can't stand using GameMaker (Studio 1). I'm gonna make something, don't worry; just not with that. I'd rather learn Lua and/or C# than use GameMaker. Maybe I'll try Unity, it shouldn't run as like shit as usual when it's a 2D game, right??? Right???
Unlike CyberELF - which is still on the table mind you! - Night of the Vixen is top-down, which makes the physics simpler. I'm also keeping the sprites simpler. Overall, this should be much less stressful to work on, other than the ever-present issue of "WAT SHUD I MEK GEM IN???" (I'm probably gonna do a very basic prototype in a few different things and see which one is the least frustrating / most promising.)
This mockup has some issues, such as the trees being absolutely terrible, but it's a start! The resolution is 256x224, which is the norm for NES games, but I'll likely raise or even double both dimensions due to the nature of intended gameplay not working with such a small screen size, and the tiny dialogue window that makes me rewrite lines over and over so that they fit.

Q. Will this game cost money? A. If at all feasible, I don't want to charge for it. If I do, though, then I'll make sure my supporters get copies - Itch.io has a very convenient way to give folks free download keys for your stuff, and even syncs with Patreon if I recall correctly.
