I decided to do some redesigns for the ARK au. A friend pointed out that Shadow’s shoes could very well have just been a prototype considering he was only issued them a few days into life. Plus. come on now no first version of anything with rockets is gonna be the last model. Anyway, Sonic got some redesigns too. I didn’t want to diverge too much from canon tho so its also borrowing a lot of elements from boom designs. I’ll be tweaking these more then likely but uh. yeah! :)
Im super bad at explaining things in a sensible way but here are a few things about it that a frend and i bounced back and forth.
The timeline for this au is just a mash up of ‘everyone is alive simultaneously’. Probably still based in the 50s upon Shadow’s initial creation so, no sleep stasis.
Maria is there of course but many of the researchers and Gerald probably came to the conclusion that there are all kinds of benefits for Shadow to have someone of his own kin to bond with. Therefore Sonic is brought onto the ARK and monitored along side Shadow. The three of them probably attend classes at the direction of Gerald who wants them to be educated.
Maria and Shadow get pretty enthusiastic about the things they get to learn about and pour over textbooks together. While Sonic will rarely attend the classes unless the other two insist on it. Infact Sonic is a bit of a handful for the scientists and doesn’t always stay in designated areas. Sometimes taking Shadow and Maria along for the ride.
Thats the basic idea of it at least.
