Well, since we're close to Christmas, I decided to share a tradition I've done on deviantArt for several years and counting. Here are special Christmas comics of my MISAdventures of Sonic the Hedgehog (and Team GFs Adventures) series. I make these every year...
2008 Comic: This was actually the very first Christmas related comic I made, back in 2008. I tried to recolor Cosmo's dress into a red version of it, but I think I may have made it look weird...
2009 Comic: My second Christmas comic, made in 2009. After seeing the Sonic Christmas DVD, my mind wondered about why there was never another Sonic Christmas special.
Then I saw my cousin wearing an ugly Christmas sweater...
which gave me inspiration to make my 2nd Christmas comic. This is why robots should never make their own paint jobs.
2010 Comic: I'll admit, the idea came to me courtesy of seeing several Sonic/Amy mistletoe pics. But what really gave me the inspiration behind this joke was an old holiday pic from BrokenTeapot involving Peach, Samus, and a mistletoe.
This scene mostly focuses on Sonic and Amy, but I added in a little side dialouge between the characters: Knuckles and Cosmo were having a simple conversation and while Sonic dashed away to talk to Tails, Rouge tricked Cosmo by saying that Tails wanted to meet her to make out. All she had to do was close her eyes...
Meanwhile, Vector had a crazy idea to get Vanilla to like him, as he told Espio to use some kind of ninja like hypnosis on her. Espio tried to tell him that there's no such thing. Vector then told Espio to at least try. Espio just shrugged and said some fake stuff as he pretended to use his "ninja hypnosis" to have Cosmo make out with Amy...
Well, it was difficult to create sprites kissing, but I think I made it work. I also made the mistletoe and holiday reef myself.
2011 Comics: After seeing Bad Santa, I thought up this...
In all honesty, would Eggman make a bad mall Santa?
Even bad guys have a limit... apparently...
Almost ironic when you think about it...
2012 Comic: I always did have a plan to hook up a "What happened after the Sonic Christmas Special" comic. The problem was my original idea was a bit... too mature to my liking, especially since it was supposed to take place around the 90's at the time... Then I simply remembered the Console Wars and... well, here you go.
Funny thing, I always thought the special aired around 1993, like the animated series... I just recently found this out, even though I own the DVD... Who knew...
2013 Comic: This year's Christmas comic is being focused on the next-gen systems. Sonic's thoughts on these systems might be the same as my thoughts on them as well... XD Black Friday may be over, but holiday shopping is always nuts. (Thankfully, for me, not too nuts...)
(For the record, when this was made, it was early in the PS4 & XBOX One launch, when games were still being released for 360 & PS3 & Wii U. Ah, those were the days... :D )
2014 Comic: Thanks to Sonic Boom, (specifically, Eggman's bad singing) this idea came to mind.
2015 Comic: At the time, the computer I had worked on had crashed and gone was all my work, but thanks to my family and my fans and keeping my work saved on flash drives, I am able to continue my awesome work. Now, as far as my Team GFs comic series, I'm thinking of having Amy and Shade have the same kind of unique friendship Sonic and Knuckles have with each other. And poor Cosmo stuck in the middle of it. :D
2016 Comic: The very first Team GFs comic! I hope you enjoy it. I hope to make more eventually.
2017 Comic: Well, I decided to make this one featuring Sonic's family. No dialogue needed for this one. Just play some Christmas music to accompany this. :) I hope you like this. This year has been very rough for me. But... I can only hope it gets better next year, right?
And thanks again to everyone who gave me condolences on probably the most difficult time in my life. I truly appreciate it. Merry Christmas, everyone.
2018 Comic: So, I decided to go with the raunchy funny route this year. I think the one panel page says it all. XD
2019 Comic: Shade takes the concept of a snowball fight to a whole new level. =D
2020 Comic: Decided to upload my special Christmas comic early this year. After what this year has provided we could all use some reminders of good things... 2021 Comic: Dr. Eggman gets an unexpected gift only to learn that his perfect gift is missing something. =D
UPDATE: 2022 Comic: A reflection on such an awesome year leads to a... unique circumstance regarding Amy's gift. XD
