My theory is that Sonic's healing factor is a lot faster than we thought. Plus, even if that's the case, he just used his usual attitude in order to hide his breaking mind. Sonic's broken inside and he tries to hide it so that way, he can escape from Eggman's clutches and help his friends save the world. That's how I figured.
