Sonic history:
Sonic plays Manny in this AU. Most hedgehogs live in "herds" or familial groups. Sonic did, however he's a loner now. His mate (Sally Acorn because Amy is Ellie XD) and his child were killed by humans years ago. Since that incident he's remained cold and never traveled with anyone. He doesn't hesitate to kill any humans who happen to run into him in revenge of his mate and child's deaths. However, after he met the human woman with the child, he felt his hardened heart start to change. At first he denied the child, but Silver's insistence at returning the child made him the main guardian (since Silver is also practically a child) and in doing so made him see that perhaps not all humans are evil. This journey has been a long one to return the child, and his fellow travelers have made him contemplate ending it all more than once. However, the ice that surrounded his heart is starting to melt, and he is beginning to open up a bit more with his comrades. It's nice to see the others doing the same.
Silver history:
Silver plays Sid and lives with is family, traveling south now that the winter season is upon them. However his family seems to disown him because of his strange looks. Most hedgehogs in this world have the typical 6 quills that Sonic has. They tried to abandon him several times, only to have him find them once again. This time they left while he was asleep. When he awoke, they were no where to be found. He met Sonic soon after, and with no where to go, decided to stay with him, much to Sonic's dismay. The child they found, abandoned by her family in order to protect her, reminded her of himself, and how he wanted to return to his own family. He followed Sonic around with the child before he agreed to return her to her family. He enjoys the baby, even though he's not very old himself, and loves to be around her. He's learning more about these people he's traveling with, and hopes that they he can one day call them his new family.
Child history:
The child in this story is Maria Robotnik. Her parents were killed in the attack by Shadow's tribe, leaving only her Grandfather still alive. These strange creatures that are taking care of her look different than her family, but she's discovering they're not much different. The blue hedgehog takes care of her the most and is usually the one carrying her, much like her own mother. The gray one likes to play and make faces with her, like her father did. The black one doesn't usually pay attention to her, even though she tries to talk to him. It seems he doesn't understand her language. Although he does not like to be around her, she has a fascination for him that she cannot explain.
Shadow history:
Shadow plays Diego in this AU. He lives in the mountains along with his tribe, an ancient people that are known for their aggressive behavior. They do not have a preference on their food, and will kill and eat anything they can find, even their own kind. However they are exceptionally loyal to each other, and will not turn on one another, at least to eat. The tribe is actually made up of the Black Arms, Black Doom being their leader, and Shadow's father. He mated with a hedgehog, and Shadow was the unfortunate result. Black Doom did not mean to have a child, and reluctantly raises Shadow after his mother dies. Shadow takes the form of his mother, a hedgehog, although he is given many Black Arm features: the black and red fur, pointed ears, long and sharpened nails and teeth to assist in hunting, and an aggressive behavior that can get him into trouble. Being a half breed, he is constantly trying to prove his worth to both his father, and the rest of his tribe. They attacked the human camp in hopes to secure food for the coming winter. He went after the child, meaning to kill and offer it to his father as a sacrifice, however Sonic and Silver ended up with the baby instead. He decided to manipulate them into following him back to his tribe, intending on killing them all, however these people seem different than the one's he's met before. In this scene, the human child causes confusion in his heart, and he can feel his will to kill his fellow travelers breaking.
