He was in a car accident over a year ago. He was driving his shellcycle when a truck came out of nowhere. Raph managed to do some sort of dodge but was injured still. His L4 and L5 bones in his spine are damaged and that's why he's paralyzed knees below. He's also missing a piece of his shell at lower back (it's covered tho! I'm sure Don has build some cover on it!) I know damaged should be more bad and that he should have more scars. I tried to draw him them in the first pages already but they looked absolutely horrible and unfitting (a hint from Raphael himself he didn't want them) so I left them out. Of course readers can use their own imagination and think him to have as many scars as they want! :D
