I have a feeling this is the part where I lose the people who are less inclined to follow along with the Looney Tunes nonsense I like to do with these. Her plan was to stick an anvil on the roof (How'd she get it up there????) and wait for Amy to slip on the ice so that it toppled off and fell...!

She's fine though.

Suddenly I get the impression that those cubs are becoming less innocent and accidental with injuring their babysitters, and becoming nothing short of malicious masterminds.

So if sonic had been the babysitter I'm guessing it would of been a mass hytersia to disarm all the traps meant for amy XD

I really don't get the choice of making the kids be the protagonists only to have them be completely unsympathetic. I mean at least have Amy do something to deserve this kind a abuse other than not being a kid so automatically must fail because plot armor.

Yeah I have to agree here. Either the victim should actually be villainous and deserve the abuse, the perpetrators should be villainous (and get in trouble in the end), or the pranks should be relatively harmless (maybe you'd pie your friend on April Fool's as a practical joke, especially if you have a history of pranking each other, but you probably wouldn't drop an anvil on their head).

The first example would include Tom and Jerry (Tom trying to eat Jerry), the Coyote and Road Runner (the Coyote wants to catch and eat the Road Runner), or Home Alone (the burglars want to rob Kevin's house and later on they want to kill him too).

Second example could be like that Sonic X episode where Amy, Cream, and Cosmo land on one planet and have to find Sonic, but fall for a couple of that episode's villain's traps (though this is not really slapstick like this comic or the above examples of the first kind).

Amy doesn't really do anything in this comic to deserve being abused.

Yeah. I've heard this complaint before. I'm aware of it. Don't worry, this'll be the last one anyway.

If there ever were a time I was to do this again, I'd probably try something a little more like what you're asking for out. I think the reason I don't do it is because the idea of humiliation and embarrassment being something entirely victim focused entices me a bit more. I could see myself working in an angle where it's deserved a little more though, depending on the circumstances.

Another possibility is if the perpetrator is really something that's totally innocent. Such as animals (normal animals, not anthro ones). Or natural phenomena such as the wind. Or alternatively if it's accidental, such as if a lab accident blew off the characters' clothes or something. Or just bad luck. Then you can mess around with a character without making it look like someone is specifically plotting against then and have it be more like just rotten luck.

's comment and I didn't think you'd take it seriously enough to change your story considering that these were the only comments giving this feedback. I wouldn't even have thought about it had nobody else brought it up first. I guess I'm just the kind of person who likes to discuss and over-analyze things.

Hopefully you continue to enjoy making these stories and comics. :)

Are they the protagonists? You know, it's funny I never really consider the kids the protagonists when I make these. It really is just an excuse to make a mean slapsticky comic. I'm also noticeably less inclined to want them to entirely deserve it, although I do throw in a bit of an explanation later. It isn't much though.

That's probably where the disconnect between me and normal people is. I'm generally not interested in the typical "revenge against the bullies" stories that most are. I'm more enticed by following a series of unfortunate events centered on a single character. In my mind Amy is the protagonist and this little girl is the villain. However, the way it plays out doesn't see her win.

Like with the Tails the Babysitter thing, I always had Tails lose and even though a lot of people liked it when the kids got their comeuppance in the last one and Tails finally left the daycare... me personally, I wasn't too satisfied by it entirely. I kind of wanted more misfortune. But I did it because I know it'd make people happy.

This is just an extra thing I managed to find time doing. I was mostly focused on what the shenanagans were rather than any set-up surrounding who deserved to get whatever was happening to them. So, sorry about this I guess.

I'm always for a good series of unfortunate events. Even if it happens to be this situation. I guess as was mentioned before with Tom and Jerry, sometimes its good to see Tom get his comeuppance, but sadly most of the time the opposite isn't true. Sometimes Jerry starts things and it still ends with Jerry better off. These comics you make are fun as they are without thought of vengeance or who should lose. The overall idea is that someone is going to lose clothing and get humiliated most likely wearing diapers. Sad to see Tails may not get this chance again but maybe there are other humiliating opportunities for him.

When I was a kid, I always wanted Tom to win. Or I wanted the Coyote to win at least once. That's the kind of kid I was.

I can agree with this a bit. Especially when it reaches the point where the "protagonist" harms the "villain" for the sake of screwing with them rather than just being retaliation for the villain's attempt to defeat the protagonist.

On a similar vein, when Amy chases Sonic, I'd like her to really catch him one day :P

I guess it can be interesting to just follow one character and what happens to them, though it's more interesting to see more of a story around it, such as a reason why the protagonist is being treated as they are. Or how the protagonist overcomes the humiliation or gets some sort of retribution. Maybe Amy could get a giant tip of the money that was originally going to be for the kids' Christmas presents. Or get other characters caught up in the antics as well. Or turn the tables - notice a trap without setting it off, set it off without the character underneath it so it makes noise, then ambush the kids when they come to look at the result.

Or subvert the humiliation in some other manner. One of my ideas would be to make the character lose all their clothing but then have them take it in stride rather than being humiliated by it. Or "oh, everyone can see my goofy underwear? Well, not if I throw them away!". Then next time she sees one of the kids she could just rip off her shirt and give it to them, and maybe then just start taking the rest of it off to use as projectiles. Then Sonic walks in and wonders what the heck happened.

I can tell you right now, that second paragraph is something I would probably never do. Taking the humiliation in stride is of even less interest to me. It's an interesting position I'm in, because when I'm writing these the focus isn't really on telling an in-depth story. I just want to make a meaningless cartoon short. The story stuff I usually reserve for my actual stories or for the Survivor Island thing, where there's more going on then just kids getting humiliated by younger kids. These are just things I want to see happen.

It's mostly just a matter of how well what I'm interested in jives with what other people are interested in. I'm not too interested in seeing the protagonist get retribution and I've come across a few people who are. I've thrown them a bone every once in a while but for the most part, these tend to be what they're about. Plus, another fact is time. I often don't have a lot of time to make anything too fleshed out in just 10 or so pages if I want to fit in all the pranks, which is what I'm more interested in. It's the reason I make them.

As I said though, there's no need to worry about this after this one ends. I think I have one more thing I have to do and then it's commissions and Survivor Island from here on.

Another option is the double subversion. For example where it looks like a character is purposely humiliating themselves and is fine with it, such as removing their own clothing or acting immature or something, but it's really just their brain being rattled and they actually find it super embarrassing, or at least they do once they recover, like after taking another blow (except that in real life the second blow probably results in death, but you know how cartoon amnesia works).

Well, she probably doesn't have any rings left after that hit. That leaves her with a shirt, socks, gloves, underwear, and a headband.

I wonder if she'd trade it all for the kids to disarm the rest of her traps and leave her alone for the rest of her stay. Then Sonic would be in for a surprise when he returns, lol.

How the heck did two kids get an anvil on the roof?!?!?

I dunno. Maybe the ACME corporation sent them a special child friendly device for transporting it.
