"I can't believe it! We graduated!"
A young purple-furred hedgehog, named Kira, jumps up and down excitedly as she walks beside her blue-furred friend, named Sonic, who was chuckling from her excitement.
"Yep, we sure did!"
The blue blur smiles as the young female continues to act in an excited manner. Sonic then shakes his head a bit before looking over as he notices Kira looking up at a nearby sign and pointing to it.
"Whoa, look! The carnival's here today! Can we go?!"
Sonic chuckles from her child-like excitement and smirks as he wraps an arm around Kira's shoulder.
"Of course we can! You don't need my permission~"
Kira smiles as she looks up at Sonic, who was holding her close as they walk towards the carnival's entrance.

As they approach the entrance of the carnival, Kira looks around in amazement at the surroundings ahead of them. She gasps and soon runs over to a large wheel before turning back to Sonic.
"Whoa... we haven't been on one of those since we were kids!"
Sonic chuckles as he walks over to it, gently holding Kira's hand into his as they walk. Kira blushes a bit from this action but follows beside him.
"True... how about we take a ride on it? I'll pay~"
Kira makes a curious expression as she looks up at Sonic, beginning to calm down a bit.
"A-are you sure? I can give you some money if--"
"No, it's ok, I got it~"
"Thanks..."
Kira smiles as she watches Sonic take out some money before handing it to the man in charge of the wheel. The two hedgies climb into one of the capsules on the wheel and stay seated as the wheel begins to move.
Kira admires the view as the wheel gets to a certain height and smiles as she turns back to Sonic, who was sat next to her.
"Sonic... now that we've graduated, what are you planning to do next?"
Sonic ponders a bit as he looks around his surroundings. He then leans back against the capsule's back and smirks a bit.
"Well, I was actually thinking of taking a basketball degree. Running would be WAY too easy for me after all~!"
Kira giggles and smirks a bit as she nudges his shoulder.
"Still just as cocky, I see~ But that is a wise choice... you are very agile, after all."
Sonic continues to smirk as he winks. He then smiles and moves closer to Kira's side.
"Well, of course~ But, how about you? What will you do?"
Kira smiles as she looks outside the capsule, once again admiring the view.
"Well, I've always wanted to have a child... so I think a nursing or midwife degree would be a good idea."
Sonic smiles and nods in response as he wraps an arm around her. Kira blushes a bit as she looks up at Sonic.
"I think you'd make a wonderful mother... but I always felt as though you should be more of a fasion designer or makeup artist. You are really pretty, after all."
Kira smiles and blushes from the compliment before looking over, noticing that Sonic was blushing a bit. She nuzzles her head into Sonic's shoulder.
"Thank you... that's really sweet of you to say."
Sonic blushes a bit but smiles and holds Kira closer to him.

A few minutes later, Kira lowers her ears a bit and looks back at Sonic as she steps out of the wheel's capsule.
"Sonic, I was meant to tell you before... I... received an application the other day. For a college near the Mystic Ruins..."
Sonic lowers his ears as he looks back at Kira. He makes a somewhat sympathetic expression as he watches her lower her head. He walks over to her and hugs her from behind before whispering into her ear.
"I've received one too... but it's for a different college, one here in Station Square. We're gonna be pretty far from each other..."
Kira continues to lower her ears but soon turns to face Sonic, smiling a bit.
"But, you could just run over here to see me... right?"
Sonic sighs a bit as he lowers his ears.
"That's true but... it just wouldn't be the same."
Kira smiles softly and gently wraps an arm around him, pulling him into a hug. Sonic returns the hug but soon watches as Kira gasps and pulls away from him. He notices her looking down at her watch.
"What? What is it?"
Kira gasps a bit and begins to walk away, after noticing the time. She, reluctantly, begins to walk out of the carnival but soon stops and looks back, noticing that Sonic was walking behind her.
"I'm sorry... I just forgot. Me and my family are going on holiday for a few days! I was meant to pack yesterday but I forgot!"
Sonic lowers his ears as he remembered that Kira was going on vacation.
"I totally forgot about that... I'm sorry I kept you away from it."
Kira smiles a bit as she holds Sonic's hand into her own. She then gives him another hug before beginning to walk away once again.
"It's ok... I will only be gone for a couple of days. I'll see you then, Sonic."
The young male continues to lower his ears as he reaches out, attempting to grab Kira's hand. He soon manages to grab it and gently pulls her back.
"Wait, please!"
Kira gasps and looks back in confusion.
"Sonic?"
The blue blur makes a soft, yet desperate expression as he holds onto Kira's hand.
"Please... don't go..."
Kira lowers her ears as she looks back at Sonic.
"I have to, Sonic. But like I said, I won't be long... and besides, we can keep in constant contact."
Sonic sighs sadly and nods as he releases her hand and watches as she walks away once more. He makes a saddened expression but soon clenches his fists as he gains confidence. He reaches down to the ground nearby and picks up a small flower. He then runs in front of Kira and stops her.
Kira makes a curious expression and Sonic soon holds both of her hands.
"I'm sorry, I just REALLY need to tell you something before you go..."
Kira makes a curious expression as she awaits the answer. She soon notices Sonic holding a small flower and smiles as he places it into her hair.
"Kira... I've been wanting to tell this for SO long. I... I love you."
Kira gasps and covers her mouth with her hand. She then looks up into his eyes and holds his hands into her own.
"Sonic... I... I had no idea that you felt that way about me."
Sonic smiles as he looks down at Kira and looks into her eyes.
"I've ALWAYS felt that way about you..."
"So have I..."
Kira smiles and gently nuzzles her nose against Sonic's. She then goes up on her tiptoes and places a kiss onto his muzzle. Sonic opens his eyes widely from the kiss but soon smiles as Kira turns away, shyly.
He gently places his hand on Kira's muzzle and turns her to face him. Kira looks into his eyes and soon notices Sonic moving his face closer to hers. Kira then opens her eyes widely as she feels Sonic's lips pressing against hers.
She closes her eyes and returns the kiss, slightly strucken from the sudden action. She proceeds to wrap her arms around Sonic's waist and smiles as she kisses him.

A few seconds later, the two hedgehogs pull apart from the kiss and Sonic smirks a bit as he whispers to Kira.
"That's my gift to you before you leave, Kira~"
Kira smiles as she gently rubs her nose against Sonic's. Sonic returns the action and gently releases his grasp on Kira's hands, finally letting her go. Kira smiles as she looks back at Sonic.
"I better go now... sweetheart."
Sonic smiles and nods as he watches her walk away. He blows her a kiss and whispers.
"Love you, sweetie..."
Kira, who heard the whisper, smiles and looks back, blowing him a kiss also. She sighs lovingly before heading out of the exit of the carnival. As she leaves, however, she soon makes a curious expression as she feels her phone vibrating in her pocket.
She looks down at her pocket and takes her phone out. She then looks down at it and smiles as she notices a text from Sonic, saying 'love you, sweetie <3'. She smiles and texts back 'love you too <3' before putting her phone back into her pocket.
