So the other night I had the idea to lump some clay on a rather ordinary fox figure that sat on my desk. The results aren't bad I think, though air dry clay as I suspected isn't ideal due to cracking around the edges when it shrinks, so I had to go around and carefully fix and blend everything. Then I tried painting and well it got a little muddy.... still not too bad I think. Overall a whole lot easier to modify a model then start from scratch. A fun little project that doesn't have the same commitment as starting from scratch with clay. :P

I've heard Stonex is good air drying clay that won't crack and stuff.

Interesting, I'll look into it for future projects like this. I've just had 10lbs of clay sitting around for like 2 years that I'm trying to make use of. :P

Looks pretty seamless! Lovely little mod - makes the figure very special 'n puts your own mark on it. :3
