I'd say it's not fair to judge based off 3 seconds of interaction. The kid did something so fucked up he got kicked from summer camp, I'd say being pissed is quite justified. Summer camp isn't cheap, dad probably chucked up a decent chunk of change to give the kid a good time. And he uses it to bully another camper. And forces them to drop everything to pick him up. I'd be damn peeved in his place too.

do you reckon it would be okay if it were one of the camp supervisors cussing him out like that? I doubt they'd still have a job. maybe I'm looking into it too much, but chances are the attitude that dad's displaying right now is a major factor in cooper's overall behaviour

First: I rather doubt they would be fired over a single infraction of cursing in front of a kid. Do you think your going to find a replacement to work below minimum wage, relatively far from civilization, and train them in time to be useful before camp is over? The owners would be idiots to terminate for a single minor infraction. RARELY does anyone actually fire anyone for saying something like this. This is a verbal 'Watch your language in front of the kids' punishment at most.
Second: Don't let your sense or righteous justice do your thinking for you. Your making a judgement based off a very pissed off parent in a 3 second window of their life. You, literally, know nothing about the father. And you are making judgement he's abusive.

there's a difference between swearing in front of children and swearing at children and the fact that you don't seem to differentiate the two is something of a concern for me

It seems as though people have forgotten the start of this comic, or didn't notice. I don't think Cooper is really that much of a bully, he is just easily pressured by his "friends" into bullying someone else. If the other kids hadn't have told him to do that, he probably wouldn't have. I mean Andy seemed to really like him at the start, as though they were good friends. If Cooper had been a bully, I don't think Andy would have seemed so happy around him. There's more to Cooper than what's shown in this little comic, why was Andy so happy at the start of the comic when it came to Cooper, certainly not because he "is a bully" as many want to portray him as.

I actually agree with you, again he doesn't looks like a bad kid at all. His body language in this and the previous page exposes more regret than any other feeling so it is something he doesn't do often.

I agree with you. I'm mean when you think about it, all he did was put a slug in his shirt. Should have just been an "ew gross" and moved on. The canoe tipping just adds to the humor.
