asked me to draw him a conbadge! Which is fine, except, I'd actually never done it before. I've never been to a con in my entire life, so I found myself suddenly asking questions like "What dimensions does this need to be?" and "can I use Earth tools for it or do I need Venusian??"

you should go to one even if as an attendee for a day . con badges tend to be rectangular and can be horizontal or vertical. a smaller amount tend to be bigger square shaped ones maybe 5 by 5 inches or so.But badges can be any size.I`ve seen ones that are even a few feet big but thats really rare.
