To quote from "A Whack On The Side Of The Head": "Cultivate your own personal sources of ambiguity. These could be people, books, things- whatever- that force you to look for more than one meaning in order to understand what´s going on."
Hope you liked this times Toastlog! Leave your feedback and possible questions for the next Q&A! And else I gotta ask as usual: Please support me on patreon,
so I can spend more time on drawing pages for FFC :
Oooooooh, looking at your last image in that panel, I was wondering if... Yes, I definately saw one of his four films, "symbol"!! I just LOVED it. Now, it makes me want to see the three other ones, it was at the same time so absurd and so full of profund réflexions, if all his other films are of this kind, I already know I'll love them too. Thank you for telling us about him (never thought I'd see something about it mentioned around here, ha ha!!). On my side, I have definately been conditioned by Rod Serling's Twilight Zone, his stories not only gave me this love for sci-fi, fantastic, powerful twists, réflexions, it also entirely modelled the way I see the world, the fact that all that's around us may not be the way it is. I know it's thanks to him that I read A. Einstein's relativity at age 16 and completely accepted and understood it, but also the fractal then quantic theories when they began to spread.

... And you see, for me "Symbol" is definately in the TZ way. Culturally different, which is very interesting to analyze, and also refreshing, but totally in the same path. Thank you again, Rod Serling.

I like the Twilight Zone a lot and should check out a complete-box sometime. I´m glad you want to check out more of Matsumotos films when Symbol already worked with you ^^ If I´d chose to put the four titles on an absurdity-scale it´d go like this (from most to least absurd): 1. Symbol 2.R100 3.DaiNipponJin 4.Saya Zamurai

This is going to sound weird, but... I think you're the only artist I was whose opinions and thoughts I actively look forward to? It's just, these "Toast-Logs" are presented in a way that's very entertaining while staying on-point. If they were just journal entries, I'd never read them – even if I had "journals" enabled for anyone I watch. But, with a Toast-Log comic, I feel like there's more to it than simply "yeah, here's me and my world."
I guess what I'm saying is... thank you for entertaining me – thank you for entertaining us, your viewers – while also enlightening us. I never would have known about this Japanese director, had I not read this comic, and I feel that your thoughts on ambiguity are very-much on-point.

I´m glad you enjoy the logs! That´s kind of the plan, getting people rather reading my stuff if it´s in this comic-form, so thanks for the positive feedback, it gives me the feeling I´m on the right way here.

that is actually both insightful and helpful. OwO i wanted to ask how you came up with the things you do but didn’t know how to ask it properly. i've always struggled to make any kind of abstract/creative things and just kinda went with a standard model for everything i draw. perhaps if i can find my personal source of ambiguity i can become an artist instead of being a graphic rendering technician! >w< thanks bro, this helped me out more than i can say!
