Well, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I say this: don't believe everything you hear. The story was amazing. Honestly, people will say anything when it comes to Sonic nowadays. People wanted a dark story and now that we got one that is on par with a Sonic SatAM tv episode, people say it is cringey and horrible? They can never make up their mind. I myself as well as hundreds, nay hundreds of thousands disagree with the tiny fraction that says that and more things about how this game is so-called "terrible." All I can say is if you want your own opinion, boy-a, you have to buy the game and play it yourself.

I know, right? When I thought of the connection of SatAM and the Archie Comics, I was like "GIVE ME MOAR." This kind of game with this kind of story, GIVE ME MOAR. Those were literally some of the best stories when it came to the Sonic games. The dark ones are always the best when done right. But yeah, I'll be so glad once all this unnecessary hate and backlash against SEGA and Sonic Team stops. I think people are also forgetting this is the very first Sonic game on a BRAND NEW GENERATION OF CONSOLES with a BRAND NEW ENGINE that they made SPECIFICALLY for this game as well as future Modern Sonic games. Also, they need to stop comparing Mania with Forces. Mania runs on an entirely different engine compared to Forces and they shall never run precisely the same. 2D will be 2D and 3D will be 3D! ....Sorry if I sound like I am ranting, but all of this plus my own playthrough of the game alongside a recorded LP I did of it and two nights of terrible sleep due to being too energetic from working out has me mentally and physically exhausted.

MJ? Haven't seen that mod. Must be hilarious. But yeah, everything else in this game shows loads of potential and I would not mind a sequel to Forces or another game built on this concept. At least keep Classic Sonic to the classic 2D games and build another game with the Avatar and Modern Sonic. Someday, we shall see Sonic back in full 3D, but this game is just the very first step since they definitely showed that the new engine has a lot of power behind it and they can definitely pump out more. But now, I need some rest. I feel like I am going to pass out.
