It's sweet! I can see why people ship these too since they have traits in common.
But I personally feel like Discord found Twilight more fascinating and wanted to impress her about basically how awesome he was, even though he did not take her seriously. He was also a lot more tactile with her and interested.
Then again, Twilight Sparkle is like vanilla ice cream and goes good with everything.
