A Tolkein poem involves an "old stone troll" sitting on a rock and eating of a horse's shinbone. Tom Bombadil comes up and tells the troll to stop that. It was from the grave of one of his ponies. The troll argues that the pony didn't need it anymore, and he thus could do what he wanted with it. Tom kicks the stone troll to make him stop.
The troll hardly felt the kick, but Tom's foot was broken and is slow in healing.
