Someone once said "It's a poor man who blames his tools." That someone can suck ALL of the dicks. I was going to draw something on my Cambio for Inklateytober, but it decided that it was the perfect time to download and install a million Windows 10 updates, so I had to settle for Inktober... and the drop in quality is obvious.
See, when you use a computer and a capable art program to draw a line, you get a line. A thick, dark, even line that's consistent and reliable. When you use a PEN to draw a line, maybe you'll get that line. But maybe your pen dried out and you won't get anything! Or maybe your skin oils will prevent the paper from catching the ink! Or maybe the ball on the ballpoint will stick and something will come out only half the time. Or maybe a tiny fragment of hair will stick to the end of the pen and the line suffers! There's a dozen or more irritating, unpredictable variables that make using a pen a frustrating ordeal. I had to use four pens plus the sketch pencil, to finish this, because one pen would suddenly decide that it was tired of this whole "drawing" thing and force me to move on to the next one.
If I had my Sakurae from Michigan (or had the good sense to buy replacements), I wouldn't have this issue. Those pens just work, albeit with the annoying permanence and occasional blotching that's an unfortunate reality of working with ink. However, I don't, and the damn computer wouldn't cooperate, so this is what came out of me.
