My redesign for Imp if he'd been in the 2002 reboot of MOTU. Or at least my first attempt. I've always found Imp's design appealing, so I wanted to keep the same basic look, but I did change his feet to more talon like claws rather than hooves. The stone, in case anyone was interested, is actually an artifact called the Abyssal Stone which allows Hordak to see what Imp sees, as well as channel as small portion of his power through it.
As far as personality goes, Imp here is far more abrasive and nasty minded, far more likely to act in a truly malicious manner as opposed to his more mischievous counterpart. Before Hordak found him, he lived in Tar Swamp, waylaying travelers and stealing anything that came his way. Hordak sensed Imp was more than he seemed and, after rather brutally beating him, struck a deal with the monster. But more on that later... Before the Battle of Greyskull, Hordak turned Imp into a stone statue to act as a safeguard in case something went wrong. As a result, Imp remained on Eternia, waiting to be awoken and to help his master return from Despondos.
