Unlucky #13: Billy, Mandy and the Grim Reaper: Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dR1qnEN1j2E Because who's befitting of the unluckiest number, then the netherworld's unluckiest being? Truth be told, that's another reason I changed my numbering this year, because it's one of the few times that Friday the 13th comes in October and I wanted to work that in all the more.
So yeah. Wow. How have I not put these guys in yet? I mean, in a way I did when I added Hos Delgado a few years back, but it wasn't really the same. Honestly, I've wanted to add them in for awhile but for one reason or another they didn't get added in... maybe it seemed to easy? Whatever the reason, their long overdue day has come.
So what can I say for the Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy? It's always been one of my favorite shows for it's hilarious handling of extremely dark subject matters and great homages to the horror genre, but I suppose I may be biased as my favorite monster of all time is the Grim Reaper, and who can't love one with a Jamaican accent? The concept alone was a fresh idea and seeing the master of life and death turned into an indentured slave to two horrible children is just something you don't see everyday (and if it is, I am both envious and terrified of the realm you live in!)
Billy & Mandy was among my top favorite shows to watch with Cartoon Network didn't suck and it's a shame that they show just kind of slowly died off, in favor of trying to my Evil Concarne it's own thing and making the Grim Adventures just obnoxious for the sake of being obnoxious with things like "DESTROY US ALL!" and that God forsaken Fred Fredburger, but I'll always remember the good days.
That's surprising! I'd say look it up, it definitely seems like something up your alley. Humor's very sarcastic and makes light of a lot of dark things, if anything watch it for Evil Concarne, a series about a group of super villains being extremely bad at being super villains... sound familiar~
