" When establishing a surface settlement is not feasible, pioneers often travel in a convoy of large airships capable of holding a sizeable, self-sufficient community where an entire generation of family may end up residing. Unfortunately, recent rise in piracy and airborne phantom attacks forced many convoys to settle on the surface for extended periods of time. The skyfaring city-state is still a sight to behold during its migration through the sea of clouds.

One of the most prominent and powerful convoy group features the largest airship ever constructed, conceived by a legendary artisan hailing from a continent renowned for its vastly advanced military technology. Although highly skilled even among the continent's brightest, the artisan never used her knowledge to develop weapons, and caused contention among her more hawkish peers as a result. However, she disappeared shortly after the beginning of a major continental war that ultimately resulted in the fall of several major countries and inflicted irreversible damage to the continent as a whole, rendering much of the land inhabitable.

The grand airship, developed from collaboration of multiple independent states including Grezivet, represents perhaps the ultimate statement of the artisan's philosophy and hope for a united world free from conflicts that ravaged countless lives. This convoy continues to be run by one of the few organizations dedicated towards recovery and research of lost knowledge for scholarly purposes.

This takes place during one of the Saber Dust delivery runs, when the ship was crewed by just Mahin and Lazra. Mahin as a child had heard stories of an airship so large that its shadow would eclipse an entire surface town, and is now witnessing it one last time as it fades away from the view.

I never thought I'd get a chance to reuse some of the airship sketches I made during high school years, but I thoroughly relished at a chance to bring them out again after nearly a decade.

Pretty dam epic, funnily enough was just listening to "Empire of the Clouds" by Iron Maiden which is about a giant airship... Coincidence much?

Amazing work as always :)

Thanks! Coincidence or not, chilling on giant flying airships is always a welcome subject.

Wow! Excellent work, bro! I'm seriously impressed. :D  We need Inktobers more often if they're going to draw this kind of effort from you. Thanks!

I really do appreciate the kind words. Something kind of triggered in me when I started participating in Inktober; a feeling that I wouldn't be able to find better opportunity to bring the script I've been keeping for years into some form of fruition.
