Keeping up with the theme of satirical spoofs of well known movie icons from yesterday, now it's Nightmare on Elm Street's turn with Rick & Morty's infamous "Scary Terry". Ok, so that was totally unintentional, I didn't mean to do two spoof characters side-by-side but I'm fine with it turning out that way. So what can I say for Scary Terry? Well for starters, he's what got me into Rick & Morty. I had initially shunned the series for the sheer sake that it was played on Adult Swim, assuming it would just be another poorly animated waste of time written by a bunch of stoners that never grew up past the point of thinking that swearing was the height of entertainment... but can you really blame me for thinking that? That's really all that plays on that damn segment of Cartoon Network; I caved though and watched the second episode of the series first to see the Elm Street spoof I had heard of and the rest is history.
The character is executed hilariously, whether you love or hate Nightmare of Elm Street you can't deny how spot on their are with their spoof, and myself being of the former found it insanely entertaining and hooked me into watching the rest of the series. Rick & Morty is one of the best cartoons currently out and the best thing to come out of Adult Swim in years and so far my own problem with the series is that Scary Terry has yet to reappear, but I'm still hoping he will. So given the fact that I finally got into Rick & Morty this year I felt it only right to honor the occasion by adding in the scary, foul-mouthed dream man himself... and since I already put Freddy Krueger in a few years ago, I had to substitute Scary Terry instead! Enjoy and sleep tight, bitches!
