Easily one of the most esoteric characters to get into a Halloween Countdown, well maybe not THE most but ONE of them as his series doesn't even really exist as a legit series, at least not yet. If you're unfamiliar with the series of "Villainous" shorts though I don't blame you as they started small, in between commercials skits on Cartoon Network and until recently were never aired in America, it has however sense been translated and there is talk of it getting a show so I'd suggest looking it up if you're curious.
What I can say though is that I was immediately captivated by this soon-to-be series'. It's certainly not perfect, with only a few minutes to get in a skit they can be very rushed but what I see is potential and a LOT of it, but maybe I'm just intrigued to see something come out of Cartoon Network that actually looks like the artists/animators put some basic amount of effort into their jobs, or isn't mind-numbingly pretentious! More over, the designs of the main characters I find extremely enjoyable especially that of Black Hat, he's just such a nasty, classic looking melodrama villain and is essentially a fully demonic Murdoc Nichols from the Gorillaz. What's not to love? Well... A lot I guess, but you get what I mean!
Sure the series seems a lot like Evil Concarne and may be just as doomed but I just really want to hope this series is going somewhere. I want to see where the villains can go and what they can do! Just... don't fuck this up Cartoon Network. Give us something! That aside, new as he was to the scene I just had to add in Black Hat. I adore everything about him, he design is lovely and he's so unquestionably twisted. I couldn't rank him very high all things considered but I still wanted him in; primarily as I just learned of "Villainous" mid-2017 and it was while I was working on my countdown and since it was on my mind I figured 'What the hell!' I should give a dishonorable mention to Dr. Flugg who I had intended to add into this picture as well with Black Hat as I also really like his character, but I opted out as I was planning for my sidekick based countdown in November and I figured he'd be a good add in... then I cut the countdown to only 10, cutting him out entirely. The same thing happened with my picture of Mr. Bumpy, so I guess another mention should go to Squishington there. Sorry guys, maybe next year~
