I have noticed that my artwork is in dire need of some serious improvement, so I have decided to challenge myself by drawing my characters in art styles that emulate those of my favorite artists, as closely as possible. I do not wish to copy them, but to force myself to work harder and hopefully learn a few tricks of my own in the process. This time I've taken inspiration from the art of my favorite comic artist, Mike Mignola.

Misbegotten Kittens would be a vastly different comic if given that Hellboy aesthetic. But the art shift looks great!
If, perhaps, you're looking for inspiration, might I recommend trying to draw something in the style of Phil Foglio (Girl Genius)?

Thanks, but I think this will be enough experimenting for me, I've already learned what I need to do to improve. Now's the time to draw more porn!

That'd be a hard style to emulate, I'd think. Phil's art is nifty, but the details are tricky.

This is really cool, kind of a Dick Tracy/spy vs spy combination. I love it. Great use of light, and shadow.
