Oh my. I don't know how it happened, but it seems that Jen has somehow persuaded her friend Equinox to try on some of her clothes. Maybe it's for Halloween. Maybe it's just because it's laundry day and our dear little mouse lass needs something to wear. Eq doesn't seem to sure about her new threads, but I think she looks totally adorable in them! How Jen persuaded her to include the choker and the clip-on earrings, I'll never know, but I think they look great on her!

It looks more like Aughts "scene" than 80s "waver," I would say. In the 80s, the colors would have been an intentionally godawful combination of candy apple red and royal blue with perhaps some hot pink and neon green as well.

All of which fits perfectly for a twelve-year-old doing what she thinks is cool, without really knowing how thing were. The idea here wasn't to faithfully recreate 80s fashion, but to show a young girl playing around and wearing an outfit that is completely counter to her usual taste in clothes.
That being said, I kind of like this better than bright, eye-searing colors, too.
