Día 5 - printing the hammer (9 hours) and the base (7 hours).. the hammer is so big that i couldn't print it on vertical position (the more logic angle), the base was printed upside down to avoid the "warping", as result lot of support stuff was generated.. the sanding will start tomorrow

Don't they usually print the handle separately? And use a cheap lightweight substance to fill up the inside of the hammer, then drill a hole, put in an appropriate amount of superglue, and stick the haft in nice and securely?

Geez, there's a lot more work and waiting that goes into this then I thought. Are all the plastic lines as hair thin as they look?

yep.. I should print the handle separately.. the filing thing is a different story.. but that's not real a problem..

and yes.. the plastic hair are there after print, but that's removed, and with the sand paper it will look smooth

You mean the part that they have to print so it's built from the floor up that the maker cuts off manually later...

You have to print thin off-hanging objects with support, the stick would have collapsed under its wieght if it wasn't printed on top of something. It'll be removed later.
