so, this came about after finding a stream for one SentyEspeon, who has this amazing and /super/ cute style of drawing poke's as anthros. I really want to commision them some day, but i'm kind of broke XP. so i drew my own instead. it's certainly not in Senty's style, but i obviously drew heavy inspiration from how they do proportions and shape.

so, let's talk design! you might be wondering.... why the bigass nails? well because he's a ghost type! he uses those for the attack Curse! :D. i was trying to figure out what an anthro ghost would 'do' in a fantasy setting, but most of the things i came up with didnt fit Nocturne's character. i settled on the concept that ghosts are wandering creatures with no real 'job' in pretty much every universe, so that wouldnt change here, and i should just focus on making him 'ghost'. the nails came first. then i started digging for those paper talismans you see in japanese stuff all the time. and wouldnt you know it, the pokemon anime acutally has some in the very first episode featuring ghosts. they now wrap his feet, and dangle from an earring. :P
