Days like today make me hate managing an entire store.

Why can't your adult employees show up to work.

it's the worst when you work in a small store and have no one but yourself to cover it. ugh

oh yeah. or when the schedule is thrown outta wack cause someone decided to just not show up or quit and not tell anyone, leaving you understaffed and when your boss never answers their damn phone.

That's pretty much what happened to me this week/into next week. I had an associate who went on vacation and she called out the two days before she left and four days after she was supposed to be back. She's known for calling out so I don't trust that there's actually something wrong. Almost the entire rest of my staff has second jobs so it's impossible to find last minute coverage because most of them can't drop what they're doing and come in. Which leaves me. And while I don't mind working, I'm salaried, so I don't get paid for any overtime. If I work 55 hours, I still get paid for 40, and it ticks me off. I know no one them would like it if I asked them to work for free.
