Yeah, yeah, no fuzzy furries yet, will get back to the sexy tails as soon as I finish this graduation project ^^

Decided to try out this format for the Work-In-Progress Thursday, it may actually work better :D

Anyway, as I promised on Feature Monday, here's WIP demo of my graduation project :la: I had to be finished with it a week ago, at least, BUT what are deadlines when noone in the university goes by them, they are like "GO FINISH THIS ALREADY AND GET YOUR BUTT OUT OF THIS UNIVERSITY, WE DON'T WANT YOU HERE ANYMORE!" XD Not in these words, but yeah, I was surprised no one got a "Sorry, you're late, see you next year".

Briefly, my project is an algorithm that simulated the work of a human eye when it's following an object. The robotic eye up there is supposed to follow the marker in any direction, moving and rotating the camera, as opposed to the way computer vision usually works - a static camera and a colourful contour that follows the object on the screen.

I got most of the code to work and am refining finishing the functions that generate the rotation angles and the communication between my laptop and the Arduino controller. I was also working on a PID controller but no time to implement it, it's gonna be as shaky as it is for the final demonstration XD

Now, you may notice that it moves just to the sides - this is not by design. The Vertical servo just died on us and is blocking the whole system if pinned to the board, so until my brother replaces it, this robot can only follow tennis matches.

Anyway, I got few more days (and nights) to finish this and I'll be presenting it on Monday, so I may break my rule of not featuring my own work on Feature Monday, but if this ends up actually working, or at least being able to do a decent simulation, screw that, I'm featuring this! :la:

On a side note, I did have some extra help tomorrow with the set-up - look at the second pic.
This is my younger cat, Puhi (name means "fluffy", don't ask XD). Up until the moment when he pushed the heavy wooden screen I was using for the scene set-up on my laptop and the screen case opened a little, he was helpful, purring around, but after that he got banned from the filming area. The laptop is fine, btw, I almost had a heath attack since this is the only properly working laptop in the household and my only work computer... x.X But it's all fine. I now know to keep a closer eye to the "help" XD
