I just wanted to prove it's possible to do this kind of shipping tastefully! I was also curious if I could actually draw them altogether, but as usual, I'm selling myself short a lot of the time by crumpling good sketches too early.

I totally agree. 'Opposites attract' might be true as well, but if you have nothing at all in common, a relationship won't work for very long.
Still, I personally don't like to ship Dash with the Wonderbolts, precisely for the reason you mentioned above (also Soarin just doesn't seem appealing to me). In my eyes they are basically strangers to Dash. But, everyone is free to ship what they want to ship. Especially since I doubt there will ever be official confirmation or contradiction.

I understand not wanting to ship them because the characters are not fleshed out. That is, however, the fault of the shower's writers for not properly expanding anyone except the mane cast and, sometimes not even then. (Behold Applejack: bland pony is bland.)
