Solaris, Celestia, and Estrella knew each other when they were teenagers. Solaris and Estrella were both 16 while Celestia was 15 when they first met.
How they met was years ago before Luminous was born *25 years later after his birth in Skylanders: Imaginators, Serena and Purity were created*, after the the night Solaris' parents died in the burning house they lived in, he went on his own that morning as he left his village, where he went into the wilderness and later stumbled upon a river, where Solaris then went swimming, while at the river, he found a white crystal in there, but he picked it up, he got caught by the current of the waters, where it brought him to where Celestia and Estrella *also in the river* were, as they saved him from drowning.
Their nursemaids treated him back to health as he befriended the two princesses, and Solaris and Celestia also fell in love with each other. The three spend time together as friends, Solaris even met their parents, who rule the kingdom.
One time, Solaris went to Celestia and confess his feelings to her saying "I love you", however Celestia turned her head down in sadness, as he wanted to know what's wrong, she then ran off, saying she doesn't wanna talk about. So to cheer her up, Solaris made the necklace out of the same crystal he once found in the river, but what he didn't know that she was engaged to the son of the rich family from Radiant City named Brillant. When he was gonna go out and find Celestia and give her a necklace, however, he was shocked to see her and Brillant practicing their marriage with alongside their families *They're unaware that Solaris was peeping*, his heart was broken as he ran into the guest room, crying in bed.
One morning, Solaris was sitting down, while he has tears in his eyes, he was then stumbled upon by Brillant, as Solaris overheard he was betrothed to Celestia and thought he was gonna take her heart from him, but then quickly learned from Brillant that he wasn't interested in her but was interested in Estrella instead but wasn't betrothed to her. Solaris also suggested Brillant to confess his feelings to her.
While they were looking for Estrella, who finally became a full fledged wizardess, the village was under attacked by one of the greater forces of the Darkness, Amurg Galactica *His first name means "dusk" in Romanian*, who then kidnapped Celestia as his bride so he'll take over the Light Realm. So Solaris, Brillant, and Estrella have to go save her.
When they reached his lair, they rescued Celestia, and after they escaped outside, they were confronted by Amurg, in which Solaris has to fight him. In the middle of the final battle against him, Amurg transformed himself into a Jersey Devil/Dragon like demon monster which Solaris has difficult fighting, and when he was wounded, Amurg was gonna finish him off with a dark fire breath, but Brillant sacrificed himself by pushing Solaris out of the way and took the hit instead to the point they thought he died, but what they didn't know *Neither does Brillant himself* that the amulet he wears is magical, and instead of death, he was magically teleported to the Radiant Isles in Skylands. Solaris was devastated that Brillant was gone, and unable to tell Estrella that Brillant loves her *which she's still unaware of*, wanting to be strong enough to defeat Amurg, the stars gave him light powers as he used them to kill and defeat the monstrous Amurg by stabbing him on the chest with his sword, which the creature perished, thus saving the Light Realm and proving himself worthy to the family, who allow Celestia to marry Solaris.
In the present, seeing Luminous, Serena, and Purity bond reminded Lady Estrella of her teen years with Solaris and Celestia, and how they used to bond like that.
