One night on Angel Island, a loud crying sound can be heard.
A young male echidna groans softly as he opens his eyes and sits up in his bed. He then rubs his eyes and gets out of bed before heading over to a nearby bedroom.
The young echidna, named Knuckles, yawns as he looks down into a baby cot. He smiles a bit and reaches down, picking up a tiny puggle. The puggle continues to cry as Knuckles rocks him in his arms.
"What's wrong, Ashkii?"
Ashkii looks up at Knuckles and begins to settle down a bit. He whines and holds onto Knuckles as he sucks his thumb, hungrily. A young female echidna, who had heard Ashkii cry, yawns as she walks into the room. She gently places a hand on Knuckles' shoulder as he turns around.
"Is Ashkii okay, sweetie?"
Knuckles turns around and smiles a bit as Ashkii nuzzles into his chest.
"I think he's hungry. He's making a sort of hungry face..."
Maia giggles a bit as she sits down on the bed and holds her arms out.
"We better feed our little guardian then!"
Knuckles chuckles and watches as Ashkii begins to feed off Maia's chest. He gently strokes Ashkii's head and yawns a bit.
As Ashkii continues to feed off Maia, Knuckles overhears a smile whimpering sound coming from the doorway. He turns to the door and notices a little female echidna sniffing and rubbing her eyes with her hand.
"Zircona? What are you doing up so late?"
"Me hwad bwad dweam..."
Knuckles and Maia both make sympatethic expressions as they look to each other. Knuckles then lifts Zircona up and sits her on the bed next to him and Maia. He wraps an arm around her as he begins to speak.
"It's ok, Zircy. Nothing in a dream can hurt you..."
Zircona sniffs a bit but smiles up at Knuckles.
"Weally?"
"Yeah... nothing can hurt you in a dream, sweetheart."
Zircona wags her tail a bit as she nuzzles into Knuckles' chest.
"Thwanks daddy."
Knuckles smiles down at Zircona before kissing her head. Maia smiles also and looks down at Ashkii stops feeding. She gently rubs the little puggle's back and her and Zircona both giggle as he lets out a small burp.
"Excwuse wou!"
"Someone's a gassy little guardian today!"
Knuckles laughs a bit from Maia's comment and gently takes Ashkii from Maia's arms, cradling him. Ashkii yawns a bit and nuzzles into Knuckles' chest, sucking his thumb.
"I'll get this little rascal to bed, honey."
Maia giggles as she stands up and gets out of bed, carrying Zircona. She kisses Ashkii's muzzle before heading towards Zircona's room.
"Ok sweetie, I'll take Zircy to bed..."
As Knuckles gets to Ashkii's room, he gently kisses the puggle's muzzle before laying him into his cot. He looks down and smiles as the little puggle clenches his tiny fists and starts punching the air.
"Well, look who's becoming a tough guy too! You're gonna be a big and strong guardian just like me..."

In a city not far from Angel Island, a young male hedgehog, named Silver, stretches and rubs his head with his hand before getting up out of his bed. He looks over and smiles as a young female, who was asleep in his bed, smiles in her sleep. He kisses her muzzle before walking into the hallway.
A loud crying sound was echoing throughout the hall as Silver walks towards the source. He yawns once again and rubs his head as he walks into the infant's room. The little infant was a tiny male hedgehoglet, who looked remarkably like his father, Silver.
The grey-furred hedgehog smiles a little as he walks over to the infant's cot. He looks down inside and gently picks up the crying hedgehoglet.
"Hey Maxxy... what's wrong?"
The little hedgehoglet, named Maxx, continues to cry and clenches his fists as Silver attempts to calm him down.
"Shh, it's ok. Maybe you need a diaper change?"
Silver, who was a bit new to the baby experience, gently lays the hedgehoglet down onto a changing mat and untapes his diaper. He makes a curious expression as he notices that Maxx's diaper was completely dry and clean.
<i>"Huh... I thought for sure that it was a diaper issue. Now, what was it that Kimi said to do? Ah! Try burping him!"</i>
Once Silver had taped Maxx's diaper back onto him, he dresses him back into his babysuit and picks him up. He places him onto his shoulder and gently rubs his back.
Maxx, who was feeling uncomfortable, soon holds onto Silver's shoulder and puffs up his cheeks as he rubbed his back. A few seconds later, Silver chuckles as Maxx lets out a loud burp.
"Whoa, I guess you did need to burp after all."
Maxx coos softly and lets out a small yawn as he nuzzles into Silver's chest fur. Silver smiles down at him as he rocks the hedgehoglet in his arms.
After a few minutes, Maxx yawns once again and soon closes his eyes, sucking on his thumb. Silver smiles down at the little infant before kissing his muzzle.
<i>"Kimi's such a great mommy... she always seems to know what's wrong with Maxx."</i>
Silver gently places Maxx back into his cot and watches as Maxx spreads out his arms above his head, in a starfish type of position. He chuckles a bit and soon looks over to a set of drawers. He notices a pacifier on top of it.
"Do you want your binky, Maxxy?"
After getting a small coo in response, Silver chuckles and uses his psychokinesis in order to levitate the pacifier over to him. He takes it and pops it into Maxx's mouth.
"There you go, little guy. I'm sure you'll sleep better now..."
Maxx coos and sucks on the pacifier as Silver smiles and kisses his muzzle once again. He walks over to the door and turns back before whispering.
<i>"Good night, son."</i>

*A few cities over, a young mobian couple both snuggle up to one another as they sleep. This sleep was very short lived though...*
"WAHHHHHHHH!!"
The male of the young couple groans as he opens his eyes and holds his head in his hand. He sits up and looks down at the young female, who was stirring in her sleep. The female soon opens her eyes and looks up at the male with a tired expression.
"Shadow?"
Shadow, the young male hedgehog, gently holds the female's hand into his own as she begins to awake.
"Go back to sleep, Sillow... I'll take care of Riley."
Sillow smirks up at Shadow a bit and leans her head close to his.
"You think I'm going to go back to sleep when our baby's awake? No way, Shadow~"
Shadow smirks a bit as he kisses Sillow's muzzle.
"I'll be back, honey. Behave while I'm gone~"
"You know I won't~"
Shadow chuckles softly before getting up out of bed and walking out into the hallway. He heads towards a nearby bedroom and hears the crying sound become louder. He walks over to the cot inside the room and looks down.
Inside the cot was a tiny male hedgehoglet, who looked very much like Shadow. He was crying loudly and clenching his fists. Shadow gently picks up the hedgehoglet in a laying position and makes sure that his hand was behind his head.
"Now now... it's alright, son. Papa will find out what's wrong."
As Shadow brings Riley closer to him, he holds him up slightly and sniffs his diaper. He makes a slightly disgusted expression as he soon feels that Riley's diaper was wet through his babysuit.
"So that's the problem, huh?"
Riley continues to cry loudly as Shadow gently lays him onto the changing mat. The young male chuckles a bit as the little hedgehoglet kicks his feet, impatiently.
"I see you have my impatient nature... or rather, your Uncle Sonic's."
Shadow untapes Riley's diaper and puts it into a bag before beginning to clean him up with some wipes. He was about to put a new diaper onto Riley before he hears footsteps behind him. He turns around and smirks a bit as Sillow walks into the room in her dressing gown.
"Hello sweetheart~"
Riley sniffles and soon calms down a bit as he notices Sillow standing above him, next to Shadow. Sillow smiles down at Riley and gently tickles his tummy a bit.
"Did our little sweetie-pie need a diapy change~?"
Riley coos a bit as he gently holds onto Sillow's finger with his tiny hand. Shadow chuckles and is about to tape a new diaper onto him but soon gasps and steps back a bit as Riley begins to urinate onto the changing mat. Sillow giggles a bit as Riley continues to urinate.
"I think we'll have to call him Riley the Tinkler from now on!"
Shadow chuckles once again and waits for Riley to finish. Once he was done, Shadow uses another wipe to clean him and the changing mat up before taping a new diaper onto him. He then picks up the hedgehoglet and holds him in his arms.
"There, all clean."
Sillow smiles and kisses Riley's muzzle as she walks beside Shadow.
"Daddy's very nice to change your diaper for you, isn't he?"
Shadow smirks a bit as Sillow kisses his muzzle also and watches as Sillow begins to walk back towards hers and Shadow's bedroom.
Shadow looks down at Riley and chuckles as he yawns a bit. He lays Riley into his cot before kissing his muzzle. Riley wriggles around a bit in his cot but soon settles down as Shadow puts his pacifier into his mouth.
Shadow then leaves the room and turns back, smirking at Riley's cot.
"Good night, Riley-Tinkler... hope you have a good sleep."

*And finally, in Station Square...*
A young blue hedgehog, named Sonic, was reading a book whilst sitting in bed. He soon feels his ear twitch as a loud crying sound was coming from a bedroom nearby. He gasps and puts down his book before getting up off the bed and running towards the bedroom.
He makes a worried expression as he runs over to the cot and looks down. Inside the cot was a little blue-furred hedgehoglet, who was crying loudly with his ears pinned back. He was also pounding his fists and kicking his feet.
Sonic scoops up the little hedgehoglet, named Miles, and gently begins to rock him, attempting to calm him down. Miles cries louder and kicks his feet quicker as Sonic begins to panic a bit.
"Whoa, little buddy! Easy there..."
The little hedgehoglet continues to cry as Sonic lays him on his shoulder and gently rubs his back.
"Shh, it's ok..."
Miles holds onto Sonic's shoulder and sniffles a bit as he feels Sonic rubbing his back. Sonic lowers his ears a bit and thinks to himself.
<i>"Am I a bad father or something? How can I not know what's wrong with him?"</i>
Miles continues to sniffle as Sonic takes him from his shoulder and lays him in his lap. Miles opens his eyes and looks up at Sonic. He sniffs and gently rubs his eyes with his hands. Sonic gently tickles his tummy with his finger and Miles wriggles around before grabbing onto Sonic's finger.
Sonic chuckles a bit and looks down at Miles before slowly standing up. Miles makes a curious expression as Sonic walks over to a rocking chair. He sits down in it and makes it rock back and forth, holding Miles in his lap.
The little hedgehoglet coos as he looks up at Sonic, beginning to calm down a bit. But a few seconds later, he scrunches his face up as he feels uncomfortable in his babysuit. Sonic picks him up and notices his face turning slightly red.
"Hmm... maybe you're too warm?"
Miles looks up at Sonic, curiously as he lays him down and undresses him. Sonic then takes a short-sleeved babysuit and dresses Miles into it. He then picks him up and kisses his cheek before laying Miles back into his cot.
"There. Feel better now?"
As Sonic is about to leave the room, Miles whimpers and continues to wriggle around. Sonic turns back and walks over, picking Miles up again. He then yawns and makes a sleepy expression as he carries Miles to the rocking chair. He sits down and looks down at Miles before getting a new idea.
<i>"Maybe this will work..."</i>
Miles whimpers and looks up but soon makes a curious expression as Sonic smiles and begins to sing, softly.
<i>"Twinkle twinkle, little star... how I wonder what you are. Up above the world so high, like a diamond in the sky. Twinkle twinkle, little star, how I wonder what you are."</i>
After hearing Sonic's lullaby, Miles lets out a small yawn and closes his eyes, sucking on his thumb. Sonic smiles and sighs as he lays Miles into the cot, fast asleep.
"Finally..."
Sonic tiptoes out of the room and heads back to his bedroom before yawning and getting into bed next to his girlfriend, Kira. Kira stirs and opens her eyes, looking over to Sonic.
"Everything ok, sweetie?"
"Huh? Oh, yeah... Miles was being pretty fussy. He's alright now though..."
Kira smiles and places a hand on Sonic's muzzle.
"You're a great daddy, sweetie..."
Sonic smiles and wags his tail as he kisses Kira's muzzle.
"Thanks, honey. Now, we better get some sleep before he wakes up again..."
Kira giggles and smiles as she closes her eyes.
"Good night, sweetie."
Sonic smiles as he closes his eyes and hugs Kira close.
"Night, honey."
