Wouldn't it be cool if Gene was brought back for the reboot? Also Merlock returning, too would be nice. Heck, why not Dijon, as well? He was in the original series, it'd be great to see him back, too.

I'd have to disagree. I've spoken with a lot of people who've seen the previews who are fans of the original series and they feel it holds up quite well.

True, it's too early to really judge the reboot, but I have faith in this series. It has people who worked on Gravity Falls, one of the highest praised Disney cartoons in years, working on it.

I feel it's in good hands.
