In the earliest hours of the morning after Devi was finally able to get her girlfriend, still shaken with anxiety, to sleep, Devi found herself to be to stirred to get back to bed, though.
Not wanting to leave her companion's side, it was a suiting enough time to check her emails and messages and, although likely asleep at this hour, maybe send a message to a long distant friend who might be empathetic towards the situation.
