this picture destroyed me. i am now dead.
but realistically, it just took far longer than i actually intended to spend on it. when laying down the lineart for the hair i got confused as to what lines went where and spent a long time fixing that. my understanding of some time-saving techniques is also very rough. i did try some textured brushes though, and am okay with how they worked. the 'bristle' brush is good for shorter fur which tends to look somewhat smooth at a distance, like the fur around the face and ears, but body fur i still feel looks better when shaded fully myself.
this is gift art for a friend from furcadia i've known for a long while of her older fae fox/flox Runetta. she has cool plant powers, so i wanted to incorporate that into the picture somehow along with just a nature-ey vibe in general.
now to return to being dead. i spent the last two days working solely on this; i hope the next picture i start is a little kinder to me.
