Character Sheet for Jathan Lancet
Character Description
Jathan Lancet, Paladin to the Tholusian military and the leader of a specialized group of trackers.
He stands to embark on a classified mission, along with his apprentice and squad, to right the wrongs committed by his childhood friend, Cynthor Muunas, and to bring order to a world corrupted by selfishness.
Although a Paladin, swearing allegiance to a dogmatic militaristic faction, Jathan holds a personal philosophy apart from society that would label him a pariah or outcast, which he dares not share with anyone.
Calm, reserved, but stoic, Jathan longs to live in a world of peace and independence from all forms of control.

Personality
Jathan is best described as being calm, although unusually reserved and stoic. This prevents him often from forming long-term relationships and trusting others. Jathan prefers to keep to himself but will help those who need support. Using his immense knowledge of training and combat prowess, Jathan has accelerated uncommonly fast through the military ranks and leads a specialized squad of trackers. Overly protective of his apprentice, Jathan will stop at nothing to keep his squad alive and well and to complete whatever mission he is tasked with.
Background/History
Originally conceived when I was in middle school, the character Jathan has evolved over the years. When I started drawing furry/anthro characters, making the transition of Jathan being a human to an anthro was difficult, especially since I personally don't identify with any particular fursona. I chose a canine because I think it's a pretty neutral [although somewhat boring] species to choose from and the species does represent Jathan's personality of being sort of a lone-wolf or natural leader, but also a bit mysterious. Jathan is not a wolf in the traditional sense, however.
Son to the great paladin, and apparent "hero" of the previous conflict with the Juugans, Adam Lancet, Jathan carry's on the weight of his father's legacy with disdain and annoyance. Although to society and the media Jathan maintains the image of a hero-status, he prefers to keep to himself and honor his father's ultimate sacrifice in his cottage, training daily and perfecting his form.
Jathan's closest friend is Cynthor Muunas, an anthro of some importance in the world. Together they form a bond, brought together through the blood-sheds of war and loss.

Body
Being a Paladin and 1st Lieutenant, Jathan dons special markings on his face indicating his rank in the military. These are preferably removed when he enters towns, cities, or foreign locations outside of Tholus' territory to not raise attention.
