Chapter 134 - A New Home

Arriving at the office, Chris halt the carriage near the entrance and was about to climb down when Serenity shot her arm out with a wary grunt, warily looking around before leaning over the drivers seat and checking the sides of the carriage. "Oh come on..." he grumbled as she climbed down first, continuing to look around and scanning the direction they came from before nodding and motioning for him to come down. "You don't have to be like that you know. We're fine here." Chris assured as he stepped down and helped Rose out of the seat as well, lifting her up making the rabbit blush before setting her down next to him and giving her a rub on the head. "I not take chances..." Serenity affirmed, continuing to look around. "I not like way humans swarm you like that, not like at all. Police get too close, other humans scream at you. Lucky I not go off." she added with her arms crossed. Looking at the agitated Pokemon, Chris couldn't help but smile at her overprotective nature as he let out a chuckle while opening the carriage door for Alicia, the snake giving a "thank you" while slithering out before he walked up to Serenity, the Pokemon raising her eyebrow before jolting when he gave her a kiss on the cheek. "You really are going overboard, but... Thanks for wanting to take care of me so much." he nodded, causing her to blush before smirking and raising her head in a haughty manner. "It job! I not let anyone get close that not deserve to! Count on me!" she affirmed before patting her fist on her chest in a confident manner. "Just long as it's bad people, then I'll put my trust in you to watch out for me." Chris agreed as Serenity took his arm with a grin before rubbing her cheek against his. "I not let bad humans near you, ever!" she assured.

"One must wonder if you can differentiate between good and bad however... You tend to generalize humans." Alicia point out, causing Serenity to scowl. "I not like big words... What that mean?" she asked, causing the snake to sweat slightly. "It's another word that means difference." Chris explained, causing both her and Rose to let out an "o--oh!" from the lesson, Alicia looking at the rabbit. "You didn't know what it meant either?" she asked, making Rose laugh nervously. "I can tell difference between humans fine." Serenity assured. "This human good!" she giggled, resting her cheek on Chris's shoulder causing him to show a slight blush of his own. "O-Others are good too you know." he reminded, only for Serenity to let out a "meh" in response. "A hopeless case..." Alicia sighed, shaking her head. "Some things just take time." Rose point out. "An eternity's more like it." the snake scoffed as they made their way into the office and along the lobby. "Ah, Mr. Nakazaki! Benvenuto! That is, welcome, welcome!" the man seen on the pager smiled as they approached the reception desk. "My name is Giovanni, Giovanni Vecelli!" he explained while offering a hand. "Vecelli...?" Chris muttered with a look of familiarity in his eyes, causing the girls to face him curiously. "Ahh, that expression is one I've been given many times..." Giovanni smirked. "All worlds have a sun amidst their stars." he chuckled with a hinting nod. "I knew it! So you're related to..." Chris point out. "Si! I am surprised an outsider would be so familiar with the legacies of our land! Most of our tourists come to take in the sights and shop yet pay little attention to our actual history, it's a nice change." Giovanni grinned while shaking his hand. "Un momento, I'll get your cards." he added before heading into a room behind the desk.

"Who is that fellow? You seem to know him..." Alicia point out. "Oh, not him personally, but I've heard his last name before." Chris smirked. "A long time ago, there was a famous artist in the east who's last name was Vecelli... This couple back in the village were big fans and had copies of his art all over the place. I just asked them who made the pictures one day and they explained it to me. I'm not really the artsy type though, but it's still pretty neat to meet someone related to a fella who knew how to paint like that." he explained. "The guy was around some five hundred years ago, so he's been gone a long time... Tiziano was his name, I think." he point out. "I wonder what the world was like way back then..." Rose muttered as Chris looked around, noticing a painting featuring a blonde haired woman. "That's one of his works right there!" he point out, the girls jolting and facing the art. "The name of that one is Violante..." he explained as they gathered at the painting. "Molto buono! Very good!" Giovanni grinned while walking out of the room behind the reception desk. "Believe it or not, that is one of my ancestors original paintings, handed down through my family for many generations." he explained as the group returned to the desk. "I'm surprised your Pokemon have an interest in something like that." he added while handing Chris a card. "Well, it's rather impressive... Humans have interesting hobbies. That fellow had to have talent for a painting to survive for such a long period." Alicia point out, her voice causing Giovanni to pause wide eyed for a moment. "A-Ah, si... Telepathy..." he nodded, smiling nervously. "I am surprised yet again!" he laughed. "That type of paint is very durable. The era of the renaissance was full of artists who came to be renowned the world over, even to this day, long after their deaths. My ancestor is but one of many, and of course they used paint that would withstand the test of time." Giovanni nodded.

"Of course, proper care helps." he added as Chris looked over his card. "That will let you come and go from both the entrance and your cabin as you like." Giovanni point out. "Appreciate it." Chris nodded while tucking it away. "Do you paint stuff like that?" Rose suddenly spoke up, causing Giovanni to let out an "eh...?" and look around curiously, facing Alicia only for the snake to shake her head, Serenity doing the same before Chris chuckled and point down. Leaning over the desk, Giovanni looked at Rose with an "ah!" and smiled. "Si, now and then, though my skill is very small compared to my ancestor. There's no comparison." he answered. "Perdono, but would you mind explaining...?" he asked, looking at Chris curiously. "Serenity here can share her Telepathy with the others. It's like we're standing in a big psychic bubble. As long as you're inside it, you can hear all of them." Chris point out, Giovanni letting out an "Ahh..." while looking at Serenity. "Fantastico!" he praised, the Pokemon blinking at him bewildered. "Fantasti-whut...?" she asked. "Whoops, scusami. What I mean is, fantastic!" he explained with a thumbs up, Serenity letting out an "ah" and nodding. "Sorry to come and go, but I'd better get these girls settled in." Chris interrupted. "Si, si. I hope you like your cabin! I apologize for shutting the gate on you, but the mayor called the office and insisted I do so as a means of allowing her a moment with you. I hope you won't hold it against me." Giovanni apologized. "Nah, don't worry about it. We were just confused at first, thought there was some kinda trouble." Chris laughed nervously. "We're just glad to have a place to enjoy the festival and get away from stuff when we need to at the same time." he added.

"Si, rest assured you're safe here at the Natale Resort." Giovanni nodded. "We have security to insure all guests remain safe and comfortable when at their cabins. Many famous travelers stay here as a means of forming a safe space between themselves and the paparazzi and such. We pride ourselves in handling any and all problems which may try to interrupt your rest and relaxation. You have our word on having the utmost safety and enjoyment during your stay." Giovanni smiled. "That nice, but manage fine." Serenity affirmed, causing him to look at her curiously. "D-Don't worry about it. She likes taking matters into her own hands when it comes to looking out for me is all." Chris explained. "There is nothing wrong with that. It is admirable for a Pokemon to be so loyal." Giovanni point out, Serenity looking at him for a moment before facing Chris. "We good to go now?" she asked. "A-Ah, sure." he nodded. Looking back at Giovanni, after a moment she gave him a silent nod before turning away, causing Chris to look at her curiously as well before smirking. "I guess that's her way of saying thank you." he point out. "Si, no problem." Giovanni waved before the group head toward the exit. Once they were all back in the carriage, the group started making their way along past the neighboring cabins that would surround them during their stay. "All look same..." Serenity point out. "That's how it is at places like this, though some will have a different look than others. It depends what kinda place you wanna be in and how much you wanna spend." Chris explained. "How do we tell which one is ours?" Rose asked. "Simple, each cabin is numbered, see?" he point out, the girls noticing the digits above the doors and on signs in front of the driveways of cabins under streetlight and porch lights.

After passing several more, the girls jolt when Chris finally turned into the driveway of one, causing them to look around curiously. "This ours?" Serenity asked. "Yep, this is the place!" he grinned as they looked at the cabin before them. "Well... It's certainly quaint..." Alicia point out. "I think it's neat, compared to the huge places we usually stay at." Rose added. "It not bad. It simple looking." Serenity nodded. "I hope you girls don't mind a place like this..." Chris laughed nervously as he stopped the carriage in front of the garage next to the building. "I know it's not much compared to where we usually stay but..." he paused, facing the cabin with a nostalgic look in his eyes. "The place kinda reminded me of where I used to live... Reminds me of my old man, you know?" he explained, looking around at the neighboring cabins as the girls looked at one another. "I like it." Serenity smiled. "Yeah! It'll be neat staying somewhere that's kinda like where you came from!" Rose nodded with a smile of her own. "It'll be an interesting experience." Alicia agreed, showing a slight smirk of her own. Looking at the girls, Chris showed a smirk of his own with a "thanks" in response before Serenity climbed down and looked around again, the same way she had before until motioning for Chris to climb down as well. "Always on duty." he chuckled before stepping down and helping Rose down the same as before, the rabbit sneaking in a hug this time on the way down. "Love you." he smiled while hugging her back before setting her on the ground, the rabbit grinning while Serenity scowled. "Hey..." she muttered, only for Rose to stick her tongue out teasingly as he opened the door for Alicia. "He gave you a kiss so what are you getting jealous about?" Rose asked, causing Serenity to jolt as Chris looked at the two with an "eh?", the Pokemon clearing her throat while looking around.

"So, you really like it?" he asked, the two nodding with an "mm!" before he looked up at Alicia, the snake scanning the cabin and nodding as well. "Simplicity can be a good thing. It's fine." she agreed. Nodding himself, Chris led the group to the front porch, stepping up as the girls curiously looked at the light above the door, following him to the entrance while he took out the card. "Home sweet home..." he sighed before pausing as he inserted their card into the lock, looking back at the group causing them to tilt their heads. "What wrong? Card not work?" Serenity asked. "No, it's fine." he assured as they suddenly heard a click from the door. "Then what's up?" Rose added. "Well, this place is gonna be like our own home in a way while we're here... While we stay in this cabin, it'll be a chance to really feel what it'd be like settling down in our own house together... Like most couples, you know?" he point out as the girls looked around. "It might even feel like we're married..." he added, a shy smile showing on his face as he blushed slightly and scratched his nose. Hearing this, the girls blinked at him and collectively muttered "married?" before thinking the word over and blushing themselves. "Us? Married?" Alicia asked, glancing away while waving her vine in a "come now" manner. "Th-That's kinda embarrassing..." Rose added, holding her cheeks with a shy smile of her own. "Married... See that happen on TV lots..." Serenity chimed in, poking her fingers. "That human thing though, right?" she asked, causing Chris to look at the group. "A-Ah... Guess I shouldn't have said that, huh? I'm sorry." he apologized, causing the girls to jolt. "I-It okay!" Serenity assured. "Y-Yeah! It was sweet!" Rose agreed, both waving their hands in a panic, Alicia facing away and clearing her throat. "L-Lets go in now, shall we?" she suggested.

"Not into the idea huh?" Chris asked, looking at the snake while showing a nervous smile and apologizing again before turning and opening the door. Looking at his back, Alicia blushed before jolting with an "urk!!" when Serenity elbowed her in the side. "What?!" the snake muttered in an agitated yet hushed tone. "Not have to act that way." Serenity point out as Chris muttered "where is it...?" while reaching in and trying to find a light switch. "I didn't say I was against it! I just didn't know how to respond... He says things like that out of nowhere." Alicia blushed again with another scowl. "Still could say something, make him feel bad." Serenity affirmed. "What about you?! Who said it was a HUMAN thing?!" Alicia argued, causing Serenity to let out an "urk..." of her own and inch back while looking away from the snake. "W-Well, that is... I not mean..." she muttered, poking her fingers again before Chris suddenly shout "got it!" making the two jolt as the lights suddenly flashed on within the living room of the cabin, causing Rose to let out an impressed "o--oh..." while poking her head in and looking around beneath him. "Say, it smells good in here too!" she point out while sniffing the air escaping the door, the interior carrying the scent of pine the same as the inn they stayed at before crossing the border. "Say, you're right." Chris smirked while taking a breath himself before stepping aside and offering to let the girls enter first with his arm out. "You go on in and have a look around! I'm gonna get Rapidash and the carriage taken care of and get some stuff brought in. I won't be long." he assured. "You sure? We can wait." Rose replied, looking up at him. "Naw, you girls go on in." he insisted before heading back to the carriage.

"Okay..." Rose muttered before poking her head back inside the cabin and walking in, looking around with another impressed "o--oh" as she tilt her head back to look at the ceiling, causing her to stumble into a table and panic as she kept it from falling over. "Should be careful." Serenity lectured. "R-Right." Rose laughed nervously while making her way further into the living room, sniffing the furniture curiously. Remaining at the door, Serenity and Alicia watched Rose for a moment before turning back and watching Chris as he worked with Rapidash to back the carriage into their garage, using his card in another scanner to make the doors rise. Looking at one another,  they showed the same guilty look before following the path to the driveway and approaching Chris from behind, the two tapping his shoulders making him jolt and turn as Rapidash warily inched his way backwards. "What's up?" he asked, blinking at the two. "W-Want to say sorry." Serenity replied, fidgeting shyly. "Eh? What for?" he asked, continuing to look at them before his eyes widened. "Did you break something?!" he panicked. "NO!!" Alicia snapped, causing him to jump. "Then... What's up?" he asked, both girls glancing away with slight blushes. "A-About what you said. Us living here like being married..." the snake replied. "W-We not dislike idea. That not what we mean." Serenity clarified. "You just said that out of nowhere so reacting was... Embarrassing." Alicia point out. "When I say it human thing, that not mean I not like idea." Serenity assured as Chris looked at the two and smiled. "Seriously? You girls came out here for that?" he asked, causing them to give him a simultaneous "eh?" as he started to chuckle.

"Come here you two." he grinned, giving both a hug making their eyes widen and flushes appear across their faces while Rose returned to the door, looking for the others before seeing them and watching with a smile. "I love you girls, I really do." he nodded as both glanced away shyly. "Being honest, I'm surprised something like that made Alicia come out here to apologize most of all." he point out, looking up at the snake causing her to scowl. "You're turning into a real softie, huh?" he asked, causing her to stutter and turn away. "Sh-Shut up!! I was trying to be polite!!" she snapped with a bright flush before saying she was going in, slithering off leaving Chris with Serenity as he let out an "aww" of adoration, watching the snake slither in past Rose as the rabbit giggled. "She really is adorable..." he nodded. "Hey, you saying I not?" Serenity scowled. "You're adorable too, don't worry." he assured, giving her a soft rub on the head. "Thanks for coming over here to say that stuff, it really makes me feel good." he added with a warm smile, giving the Pokemon a poke on the nose making her jolt and blush. "W-Welcome..." she nodded as he went into the garage as well, taking out his Pokedex and using it to find the switch to turn on the lights in the garage, causing Rapidash to jolt and squint his eyes when they flashed on and giving Chris an agitated grunt. "Sorry about that, guess I should've warned you." he apologized, the horse scowling in response as Serenity walked in. "So this where he stay then?" she asked. "Yeah, that okay with you buddy?" Chris asked, Rapidash looking around and nodding. "After we get settled in I'll take you for a ride into town so we can pick up some supplies. I noticed a shop not too far from here where I could get a few necessities. I owe you a big reward for getting us here!" he grinned, causing the horse to twitch an intrigued ear.

Working on freeing Rapisash from the carriage, Chris instructed Serenity to begin removing the supplies for the horses stable so they could get at their belongings easier, the Pokemon nodding and doing as asked while he looked the horse over. "You really were amazing, all that work and not a scratch... If anything you look even better than before." Chris noted, looking over the blaze along the Pokemon's body. "You're one heck of a stallion." he praised, Rapidash showing a small smirk before stretching his neck and yawning, now free from the reins. "I get stuff out of way." Serenity spoke up, having piled the supplies against the wall. "Ah, thanks." Chris nodded, looking them over. "Pretty sturdy stuff... I wasn't so sure how well that idea would work in the end but the rods and tarps really pulled through." he smirked before he started rummaging in their storage. Trying to pull out his rucksack, it wound up lodged within, causing him to strain and grunt while trying to free it. "R-Really crammed this stuff in there..." he muttered, their containers and cooking supplies corking the rucksack in place all the more. Lending a hand, Serenity grabbed Chris and started pulling him as he struggled to free their belongings, and after a moment his rucksack along with most of what had been stuffed into the storage flew out all at once, causing both to stumble back with a panicked shout. Turning back, Rapidash winced when he saw the two fall together, thudding onto the floor with Chris clutching his rucksack while laying atop Serenity, both letting out a groan as their belongings lay sprawled out around them. "K-Kinda got messy toward the end..." he laughed nervously. "Should have kept more neat... That what get for pushing stuff in." Serenity added while raising up and rubbing her head. "Floor hard..." she muttered.

Looking up at her, Chris grinned and gave her a "thanks for the save" comment, causing her to smirk before giving him a hug and rubbing her face into his hair. "Love you." she sighed. "You too." Chris chuckled before raising up off her and standing, swinging his rucksack over his shoulder before reaching down and pulling her up, causing the Pokemon to stumble against him. "Oop! Sorry!" he laughed as she blushed with her face against his chest before quickly pulling away and laughing as well, albeit nervously while scratching her cheek. "N-Need help?" she asked. "Nah, it's not that bad. I carried it all over the place before we got to the city, remember?" he point out while resting his rucksack on the drivers seat. "Gotta get all this stuff cleaned up and taken inside though." he added, the Pokemon nodding before helping him pick up all the utensils and the like that had flown out of the storage. After a moment, they both reached for a nearby pot lid, causing them to pause when their hands touched as they looked at one another. "S-Sorry." Chris laughed nervously. "I-It okay." Serenity nodded, her hand remaining on the lid beneath his. "You know... For such a tough girl, your hands sure are soft." he point out. "That bad?" she asked. "Nah, I like it a lot." Chris assured. "Same go for you, I like hands. You gentle male, but have big hands, feel rough in way. Feel strong." Serenity praised, looking down at his hand atop hers. "They good for making feel safe..." she added. "And other things..." Chris hinted, causing her to blush while looking up at him as he smiled. "Y-Yeah... That too, they good for that..." she agreed, the two continuing to look at one another as his grip on her hand tightened, causing her eyes to widen.

"Are you two coming in or what?!" Alicia suddenly snapped, poking her head in from the side of the garage entrance making both shout and fall back from one another in a startled state."S-S-Stupid snake!! Not do that!!" Serenity snapped with her face seemingly glowing, Chris taking a breath to collect himself. "Y-Yeah we're coming." he nodded with slight sweat on his face, Alicia looking at the two and scowling. "What were you up to in here anyway?" she asked suspiciously, squinting her eyes at them. "We not do anything. Even if we do it none of business." Serenity scowled. "W-We were taking stuff out of storage and it kind of went everywhere, that's all." Chris explained, the snake responding with an "uh huh" before Rose poked her head in as well. "Need any help?" she asked curiously. "Sure, if you wanna." he nodded as the rabbit walked in. Getting some bags out of his rucksack, Chris filled them with utensils and dishes, letting Rose carry them in while Alicia slithered in and offered to help as well, holding several bags with her vines while Chris and Serenity took the rest and followed behind, his rucksack over his shoulder once more. However, when Serenity passed Rapidash she heard the horse snickering, noticing it glancing toward her. "You shut up." she scowled. "Whuzzup?" Chris asked, looking back causing her to jolt. "N-Nothing!" she assured with a nervous smile while following, the horse snickering again making her scowl once more and growl in agitation. "Thanks for helping bring the stuff in girls." Chris nodded. "No problem." Serenity shrugged. "Quite alright." Alicia added. "You looked like you could use it." Rose laughed nervously while looking in the bags she carried.

"Still kinda hard to believe how much you got in there..." she added. "Yeah, it was all tidy at first, then when I went to try and get my rucksack out..." Chris explained with an embarrassed smile. "That's what you get for messing around in the storage time and again. Shoving this here, stuffing that there." Alicia lectured. "Well, it took teamwork but we still got everything out!" he grinned, looking at Serenity as the Pokemon smiled back, Alicia taking notice and scowling while Rose giggled. Heading up the porch and inside, Chris and the girls set their belongings down in the middle of the living room with a collective sigh before he finally took the chance to look around, noticing all of the paintings placed on the walls of forests and Pokemon in nature, depicting things like Stantler, Sawsbuck and Steerling, while others were more unique, such as one painting featuring a row of Rapidash running along a field as the sun set, and one of Butterfree and Beautifly as well as various types of Vivillion perched and flying through branches of trees. "Boy, nice stuff..." Chris muttered, looking the art over. "I thought they were pretty too. Humans sure are something, being able to do that kinda stuff." Rose point out. "Indeed... Humans do have some admirable qualities." Alicia nodded. "So they scribble on stuff." Serenity scowled. "Oh come on, you know it looks good." Chris lectured, the Pokemon glancing at the art before letting out a "fine" and nodding. Continuing to look the place over, the furniture had a rustic pioneer style to match the cabin, such as log tables, wooden rocking chairs and sofas with cushions featuring nature and more woodland Pokemon, along with carpets featuring mountainous and tribal designs.

"I like this!" Serenity suddenly called out, the group jolting and looking around before finding her above, having used her psychic to lift herself onto one of the log beams stretching across their heads supporting the ceiling and laying across it. "This good place to relax... Can play music too." she added. "Just be careful." Chris smiled nervously before taking a small pillow off one of the sofas. "Yo!" he called out, Serenity looking down as he tossed it up. Catching it with a "thanks", she placed it against the post behind her back and relaxed with a sigh. "Oh yes, I like this lots." she giggled. "Now who taller than who?" she asked, grinning slyly while looking down at Alicia causing the snake to scowl. "That doesn't count and you know it. Don't get cocky." she replied. "Work for me." Serenity smirked before sticking her tongue out, the snake twitching her eye and grumbling. "Alright now, come on you two." Chris lectured. "I like the pictures on the cushions too... Plus they're re--eally soft." Rose point out while laying across one of the sofas, letting out a sigh of her own. "Those things are actually comfortable...?" Alicia asked, slithering up to the second sofa in the room and taking it for herself, slithering across it. "Huh, indeed..." she muttered in a somewhat surprised state. "Just because they look a little more natural than the stuff we usually see doesn't mean it's any less comfortable." Chris affirmed while taking a rocking chair for himself, leaning back with a nostalgic smile. "Oh yeah, this takes me back..." he chuckled. "Gramps had a chair like this he put together himself way back when. Used to sit on his lap all the time... Fell asleep now and then." he added, the girls looking at him curiously.

"You really do enjoy it here, don't you?" Alicia asked. "I do... It's like being back at his place in its own way... The mountains here, the forests and all. These cabins... I really wanted to come here to show you girls a great time but, I gotta admit I was a little selfish in choosing this place." he confessed with a nervous smile. "You really don't mind it here?" he asked. "I like it! The pictures, the furniture, even the smell of the wood, it's nice and relaxing." Rose nodded while stretching and rolling onto her back. "I don't mind. A tad more wild than I expected, given the furniture appears to be made of branches and twigs... But it's interesting in its own way." Alicia agreed. "I think it neat, like being in forest, but not in forest. It like rabbit say, smell nice in here. Relaxing." Serenity added before letting out a yawn. "Maybe you'll roll over and fall if you fall asleep." Alicia taunted with a grin. "You shut up." Serenity scowled. "Come on you two." Rose complained, the girls looking away from one another with their tongues out. "They love each other one minute, then bug one another the next." Chris chuckled before standing. "We've got a pretty big fireplace here and a nice sized TV above the mantle... I wonder if it's..." he muttered, looking around while the girls watched. "What doing?" Serenity asked. "I wanted to see if it was electric but looks like this one's just a regular fireplace. Gonna have to get some wood." he point out, letting out an "ah!" when he noticed the remote for the TV on the mantle. "Who wants the...!!" he began to ask, only to find himself charged by all three women at once, each struggling to grab the controller making Chris stumble back with a startled shout before falling back with all three on top of him.

"I call!! Give!!" Serenity shout. "I think not!! Hand it here!!" Alicia fought. "No way!! You guys always hog it!!" Rose complained, one of them snatching the remote finally from his hand, only for another to snatch it leaving Chris stuck beneath a trio of  women fighting for first dibs. "G-Girls!! H-Hey!! Easy!!" he panicked, flailing beneath them as all three suddenly grabbed the remote simultaneously, staring one another down. "I say I call." Serenity growled. "The saying is LADIES first..." Alicia hissed. "I want it for once!" Rose argued with a scowl of her own. "G-Girls...!!" Chris wheezed, raising a trembling hand up causing them to jolt and look down at his blue expression. "C-Can't... Breathe...!!" he struggled, all three having piled themselves on his chest and torso. Panicking, they quickly got off and apologized, all three keeping their grasp on the remote despite feeling guilty as Chris raised up with a loud gasp, letting out a relieved "th-thank you" while catching his breath. "I-It snake fault! I sorry!" Serenity apologized. "MY fault?" Alicia snapped. "Well you ARE heavy..." Rose muttered as they noticed they were all still holding the remote, standing still for a moment before they started pulling on it. "I-I'll just, uh..." Chris muttered while standing and slowly making his way back to the door. Stepping out, he cracked it behind him and let out a sigh of relief. "Why do you set yourself up like that?" he heard Ninetales echo in his mind. "I didn't do it on purpose! How'd I know they'd pounce all over me?!" he argued. "Those girls will be the death of you one day... The sad thing is it'll be your own undoing that will cause it." she lectured. "I offered a TV remote and got dog-piled, who'd see something like THAT coming?" he scowled. "Those three are addicted to that thing you humans call entertainment, you should've expected it." she scoffed.

"Yeah yeah..." he grumbled before heading back to the garage. "Yo, gotta get those blankets out." he told Rapidash, giving the horse a pat on the side before opening the carriage and taking out several of the sheets within. "Gonna have to make two or three trips... Need to wash em' since there's supposed to be machines in the cabin, somewhere." he added before making his way back to the porch. Pushing the door back open, he stepped in and flung all the sheets atop his shoulders into a pile on the floor, the girls sitting around the table in the living room sulking. "...What's wrong with you?" he asked, the girls giving him guilty looks. "The remote won't work." Rose point out, holding it toward him. "Seriously? Did you really break it?" he scowled, walking up and looking it over. Noticing something flapping in the back, he found the door that covers the batteries had come loose, causing them to fall out. "There's your problem." he point out before looking around, finding one before noticing the second under the sofa and placing them back in. Facing the TV, he turned it on causing the girls to jolt and shoot up. "HOLD IT!!" Chris shout with his hand out, causing them to freeze. "I'm not getting dog-piled twice in one night." he lectured before setting the remote on the table. "I'm gonna spin it. Whoever the end with the red power button points to will get to decide what to watch. Agreed?" he asked, the girls looking at one another and nodding. Putting his hand on it, he gave it a flick with his wrist causing it to twirl until stopping at Rose, the rabbits eyes widening and a smile spreading across her face while Serenity and Alicia groaned and slumped, only to quickly jolt back up when Chris let out a grunt as Rose started going through channels.

"Now, then, anyone wanna help me bring in the rest of the sheets from the carriage? I wanna get em' washed." he asked, Serenity nodding with an "I help" before standing with a stretch. "Since rabbit get lucky..." she murmured. "Alright, alright." Chris waved before motioning for her to follow. Working together, the two managed to bring in the remainder of their bedding in a single trip, having put the sheets atop each other and flinging them on the pile near the entrance. "Good, now just gotta find the machines..." he sighed. "Machine?" Serenity asked. "Yeah, we have a washer and dryer in one of the closets. Probably in the kitchen." he point out before making his way past the living room. "We not look at kitchen yet..." Serenity point out before curiously following. Looking over the back of the couches, Alicia and Rose watched before looking at one another and trailing behind the two, deciding to join in having a look at where they'd be preparing their meals. Flipping on the switch, the group found their kitchen to have the same rustic country appeal as the living room, yet with modern touches including granite counters and a chrome fridge and oven. Noticing the shiny counter tops, the girls felt along them and felt the fridge. "So--o shiny...!!" Rose exclaimed. "This is certainly a dazzling touch. I'm surprised it fits so well in such an otherwise primitive setting." Alicia smirked. "P-Primitive?" Chris smiled with slight sweat on his face, causing the snake to let out an "urk!!" and laugh nervously. "I guess the cabin does have more of a man cave vibe than the other places we've stayed." he admit. "It nice and feel clean. I like." Serenity nodded with a thumbs up. "Looks like we've got another sliding door that leads into the back... And it's a safe bet that door next to the cabinets leads to the machines!" he grinned, walking around the counters and opening the door to find what he'd been looking for, showing a smirk and letting out a "yep!" as the girls looked into the room.

"Eh... This not interesting." Serenity shrugged. "I like the kitchen better." Rose admit. "It's where humans clean what they put on, it's not going to be interesting." Alicia point out. "Ha ha! What were you girls expecting?" Chris asked as they started feeling the counters in the kitchen again. Shaking his head with a smirk, he went into the small room and checked out the machines, finding supplies already provided to wash laundry in a small cabinet overhead. "Hey hey... Now that's service." he nodded before he started bringing all their sheets into the laundry room. Once he had the washer filled with their bedding from the journey, he looked at what remained and muttered "two or three loads..." while shutting the washer lid. "We have a back porch!" Rose suddenly point out as she and the girls started looking through the curtains that blocked the sliding door. "Looks like there's something out there..." Alicia added, the girls squinting their eyes. "Ah, you'll like this." Chris grinned while joining the girls and opening the curtains. Flipping a switch next to the doors, the outside lights flashed on and the girls found half the porch had walls around it for privacy. "You see that big rectangle spot in the porch there?" he point out. "That thing sticking out?" Rose asked. "Mm. That's actually a lid that covers a jacuzzi that was built into the porch! You take the lid off, get the controls set up right, and you've got your own private hot tub to step down into! They even have those torches there set up so you can light em' instead of having to use the porch light if you want." he explained. "It's just like those hot tubs we tried out back on the ship." he added, Serenity and Rose pressing their faces against the glass with a collective "o--ohh!" in response.

"Now THAT something I like." Serenity nodded. "Especially if you light those torch thingies and just sit there... Maybe have some snow falling... It's be just like those romance things humans have on TV where people spend time together getting all cuddly and stuff." Rose giggled, the two looking at Chris and blushing as he scratched his cheek with a shy smile. "W-Well, that's one reason to have it." he nodded. "We've got that grill over there too!" he point out. "Does the jacuzzi HAVE to be outside?" Alicia grumbled, causing Chris to jolt. "W-Well, don't worry about it." he assured with a wave. "If you not want to use it, that make more time for us." Serenity grinned, causing the snake to scowl. "Okay now, lets just forget about it for the time being. Seeing it is enough for tonight." Chris affirmed while shutting the curtains, getting an "aww" of disappointment from Serenity and Rose while Alicia shrugged with a "meh" and slithered back into the living room. "Alright, we've brought our stuff in, our sheets are getting washed, the carriage is tucked in the garage... Only things left to check out are the bedroom and bathroom." he smirked while he and the girls trailed behind Alicia, the group looking around at their new living room again. "After we take a look at those, I'll probably head out and see about food for dinner." he added. "I ready to eat, that for sure." Serenity groaned while rubbing her stomach. "Yeah, same here... I'm starved." Rose agreed. "I'm famished myself..." Alicia confessed. "I'm not sure what I feel like personally." Chris shrugged. Heading back to the front door, he looked up a set of stairs that began across from it and ran up along the wall, leading to the second floor above. "Bedroom's just up there, it's the only room on that floor." he point out before looking down a short hall next to him. "Bathroom should be right there..." he muttered.

Motioning for the girls to follow, he decided to show off the bathroom first. Opening the door and flipping on the light switches, their eyes widened as Chris let them enter first, smirking as they looked around. While the sink and cabinets followed the same wood and granite design as the kitchen, the girls couldn't resist being drawn to the massive mirror above it, each of them subconsciously looking themselves over. "Somebody's FABULOUS!!" Chris teased, the girls jolting and flushing as he laughed at their responses causing them to scowl before they continued looking around, noticing both a massive walk-in shower along the wall of one side of the bathroom, covered by a wall of glass with a massive tub on the other, built with steps leading up and into it. "And THAT'S why I told you not to worry Alicia." he point out, walking up to the tub. "This puppy's big enough for us, and then some. Plus it functions like a jacuzzi too, has jets and all you can use, so if you don't feel like using the one outside, here you go!" he grinned. "I keep tellin' ya I always keep you girls in mind! A little something for each of you! And uh, well, the cabin's more for my taste I guess but... Hey." he winked as the girls looked over the tub, Serenity and Rose climbing in and sitting with their arms and legs stretched out. "B-Big..." Rose muttered. "Lots of room..." Serenity agreed. "Big enough for all of us to get in really." Chris chuckled, looking up at Alicia only for the snake to respond with an "I'll pass..." before facing away and blushing slightly. "But... Thank you, for considering me. I do appreciate the bathroom you picked." she admit. "Heh, anything for my girls." he nodded, patting Alicia's side. "You'll get in with me at least, right?" he asked, the snake jolting and glancing at him before looking away again. "Wh-What do you think?" she muttered shyly causing him to grin again.

"Love ya." he teased while giving the snake a nudge. "You as well." she nodded before giving him a slight nudge back. "Asking the obvious... Really." she added. "Hey, doesn't hurt to ask though! Good to know you wanna." he affirmed as the girls climbed out of the tub and stepped down. "You girls want a tour of the toilet too?" he teased, causing their eyes to widen before all three gave him a push and a collective "NO!!" in response. "That gross!" Serenity snapped. "Yeah! Ew!" Rose agreed. "You're disgusting." Alicia scowled as he laughed and apologized. "Well, least you know the shower and bath is more than big enough for us. Won't have to worry about being cramped." he affirmed. "I like! Have to get used to big bath though." Serenity point out. "I think it's neat. I could probably swim in it." Rose added. "Well, you're certainly small enough to." Alicia nodded as Chris led them out the door, having Serenity shut off the lights on their way out. "Heh... Your reactions were pretty priceless though." he snickered. "Not be nasty." Serenity lectured while giving him a nudge. Making their way up the stairs next, the group went around the railing on the second floor and stopped at the bedroom door. "And this is where we'll be sleeping... You ready?" he asked in a manner as if unveiling a present, the girls looking at one another curiously and nodding. Reaching for the knob, Chris suddenly paused and turned back to the girls. "W-Wait here. Don't move, okay?" he instructed, causing them to tilt their heads before moving aside when he rushed past and back down the stairs. "What that about?" Serenity asked. "I couldn't tell you." Alicia shook her head. "That was quick..." Rose muttered as they heard the front door open.

After a moment, they heard the door shut followed by his footsteps racing back up the stairs. "Okay okay, we're ready!" he grinned excitedly. "Here we go girls... Take a look." he added before opening the door. Inside, the ceiling was slanted on both sides of the room, matching the shape of the cabin and fitted with a massive, sturdy glass panel on each side which allowed the Aurora in the sky light up the room as they swayed high above. "Every night you can look up at the sky while you fall asleep..." he point out as the girls slowly made their way inside, looking up wide eyed. "You can see right through it..." Alicia muttered in awe. "Now I admit, THAT neat..." Serenity nodded. "Look at the bed...!!" Rose added, tugging Serenity's skirt and pointing toward it. "My word, that's he largest yet!" Alicia replied, their eyes widening. "It's pretty much just the bed, that side table with the lamp and the drawers there so they put a REAL huge bed in to fill up the empty space." he explained as Chris turned on the lamp, the light showing off the decorative logs that made up the frame of the bed. "Is it sturdy?" Alicia asked, only to have her question answered when Serenity and Rose suddenly jumped onto the mattress in a belly-flop manner and started bouncing. "Big bed!" Serenity grinned. "It's even softer than the cushions on the couch!" Rose giggled. "That answer your question?" Chris smirked, raising an eyebrow with his arms crossed. "Oh don't get smart." Alicia scowled. "This kinda furniture might LOOK flimsy but believe you me, it can be the toughest you'll find. This stuff is built to last, don't you worry." he assured. "Welcome to your new home girls!" he grinned. "I like! Like lots!" Serenity grinned as well.

"Same here! The furniture is kinda different but in a really neat way! The place smells really good and everything's SO big in here!" Rose agreed. "I'll admit, I do appreciate how certain necessities are my size, and there is a charm to this place." Alicia smirked. "Well then..." Chris paused, looking at the girls on the bed before charging up and jumping into the air between them. "BONZAI!!" he shout, landing on the mattress sending Serenity and Rose in the air, making them laugh as he caught Rose and started tickling her. "So childish..." Alicia giggled. "At least we have a lot of fun." Chris winked as they looked up at the lights in the sky together...

Pokemon - Tale Of The Guardian Master - CH 133
Pokemon - Tale Of The Guardian Master - CH 135
Some time ago, a young man named Chris, now 23, discovered he was chosen to carry a curse passed onto him through his bloodline by a Ninetales his grandfather saved long ago, having grabbed its sacred tails to save it from falling to its demise. Burdened with this fate, which the young man now calls a blessing, Chris accepts the life chosen for him and allows the curse to guide him freely in life, destined to forever put others before himself, to forever follow the path the curse guides him along towards those in need most...

Along his journey thus far, Chris has come across a Ralts who was abandoned by her former trainer for being blind, hurled off the edge of a cliff and left to die that has since evolved into a full fledged Gardevoir by his side, swearing her life to the young man with the mysterious and terrifying ability to use the power of a Shadow Pokemon, granting her the title of a mysterious new Shadow Hybrid... Also traveling by his side is a Snivy who has since become a Servine, abandoned by her former trainer for refusing to evolve after a terrifying battle she had with a Serperior that left her mentally scarred, resulting in her former trainer neglecting and starving her in an attempt to persuade her to evolve, until he finally left her to die as well followed by a Buneary who has since evolved into Lopunny, who's former trainer became enraged due to her refusal to battle and tried to kill her off when he discovered she could only evolve via friendship...

Chris has met many people and Pokemon alike along his journey, each left as inspired by his presence as the last... He's nearly sacrificed himself to save Gardevoir and Servine from a deadly attack by a pack of Houndoom, lead by a Mega formed leader by hurling himself off a cliff to catch the two and nearly dying... Resulting in his lengthy stay in a location called Millennium City where he provided a hospital full of children an awe inspiring play room full of wonders any child would adore... Saved thousands of Pokemon eggs from dying out when their colossal incubation system malfunctioned in one of the cities many centers, and it's the location he saved Lopunny when she was a Buneary from being struck by a massive truck after being hurled into the highway by her former trainer... He's met and inspired a kindhearted old butler named Gerald who served the group during their stay in the city, and even came across the mysterious N from the Pokemon series, inspiring even this strange person during his stay in the city resulting in Chris being deemed a man worthy of keeping an eye on...

Most recently, Chris had become a criminal during his efforts to free Lopunny from her former trainer altogether, having forced his way into the city's top prison the man was held within and taking not only the Pokeball belonging to Lopunny, but taking all of his other Pokeballs to free the Pokemon within them as well only to discover the mans father was the Warden of that very prison in the process. Finding himself intrigued by Chris, the Warden gave him a chance to avoid prison time by revealing he was also the city's Gym Leader, striking a deal that if he won he would be pardoned of all crimes and allowed to leave the city.

Before the day of the match arrived, Chris found himself becoming close friends with the city's top scientist, Professor Rose, and together along with her staff they managed to complete Project Celebi, a device that could transplant sight between two people without surgery! The project turned out to be a success after Chris offered the sight in his left eye to give Gardevoir the ability to see the world for the first time via her right!

After this, the time for his showdown with the Warden arrived, and after a lengthy two part battle, Chris turned out the victor with the support of all those attending the event and beyond... To thank them for fighting for his sake, Chris gave Gardevoir, Servine, and Lopunny their own unique names, gaining the titles Serenity, Alicia, and Rose respectively, with Lopunny being named after the professor who had done so much for the group during their stay in the city...

After regaining his freedom, Chris and the girls spent a week at Arthur and Angela's massive manor on the outskirts of the city, followed by a first class cruise aboard the brand new S.S. Guardian, the first pollutant free ship in the world relying solely on solar power reservoirs! With its maiden voyage celebrating the 100th anniversary of the loss of the R.M.S. Arceanic, fate played its hand along their way to Arcticu Valley and led the Guardian to the exact location of the ships wreckage. Attacked by a massive Gyarados swarm, the Guardian was sank to the bottom of the sea, protected by a barrier crafted by Serenity which resulted in the discovery of the remains of the legendary ship.

In turn, many truths came to light in the dark depths, and after garnering the aid of the souls aboard the remains of the vessel, the Guardian managed to return to the surface of the sea once more and the Gyarados were defeated! Criminals were justly punished, a company was repossessed, and Chris was given total ownership of the entirety of the Arceanic wreck site! And now, they've finally arrived at their destination, and many more adventures are about to unfold...

Great relaxing read, a chapter dedicated to their new cabin/home as the title says. It shows that this will be a longer stay in the Arcticu Valley and Yulema City. I’m not sure if this was already mentioned in the story, but how long till the Aurora Festival starts and how long will the festivities last? Just curiosity about the culture there.
But there is more in this chapter than their new home, Giovanni Vecelli and his ancestor Tiziano (Tiziano Vecellio in our world). A character with a real world reference such as this reminds me of Victoria and Sally. I wonder what role he will play in the story.

Speaking of Victoria, if I remember correctly she was the last one who came up with the topic about marriage. (ch75) Too bad Chris doesn’t recall her words: “They seemed to like the idea of marrying you though!”
Or how the girls reacted to this topic later in that chapter. They looked quite interested in it, although at that time they didn’t exactly know what it means and Chris had to explain it to them. Now knowing what it means in the human culture maybe that’s why the girls reacted more reserved about it this time.
Chris also mentioned in chapter 75 to put this topic aside until it's the right time, and now he is the one who comes up with this topic… does that mean the story slowly works its way to the right time? :3
The only thing that bugged me in this moment and later when Alicia and Serenity apologized was Chris who acted like the conversations in chapter 75 never happened. I’m not sure if I’m missing something between the lines here, though. :/
But what I loved was Serenity’s and Chris small romantic moment afterwards. They’ve had their emotions build up and in this small moment alone together they couldn’t help it and got a bit romantic.

Haha, what’s with the girls and TV? Maybe they have been without it for too long on their small trip to the city? xD I wonder what their favorite shows are, especially Serenity’s favorites. Because she hates humans and at first didn’t even want to admit that she likes the human made paintings in their cabin. But if it’s motion pictures she is willing to fight over the control. Hmmm… are they watching movies and shows which have only Pokemon in them? The anime showed us that this kind of movie/show is quite common.

While Chris was giving them a room tour, why did he rush outside only to come back and proceed with entering the bedroom as if nothing happened? Freeing the glass panels from snow for a better view?

Ninetales showed up for a moment too. Yay
