I still recall the first time I played this game and got to the Garudo Fortress. I had no clue how to proceed, because the guards seemed invincible. I thought I was just supposed to avoid them, but I kept getting ambushed by the guards with swords. Finally I saw a preview of a cutscene later in the game where a Garudo collapses in defeat. It was a completely different one, but at that point I decided there MUST be a way to defeat them. So, through sheer tenacity I pulled it off. lol
I still think the Garudos are some of the most awkward fights in the game. It feels like they have way too small an opening, and take way too many hits to defeat. Half the time I would dodge into a wall and get hit anyway, or just not be able to get behind them in time. They aren't really hard so much as they are just harder than about any other non-boss enemy.
