Captain Crit used to be a pirate, and that was because after the last adventure which all the pirates banded together to defeat an ancient awakened evil at the cost of their ships, Crit laid low, as one of the few remaining pirates who evaded capture and punishment. He settled down, married, raised a child and was generally happy.
Until his wife, Lola, divorced him and took custody of his daughter. That left Crit really sad, and once more he turned back to a life of crime, just without his crew or his pirate ship.
One fateful day, when he broke into an abandoned mansion belonging to his ex wife in search for the loot he had hidden away, Crit encountered Sparkle, who had tried to retrace back her mother's steps to find her missing father. As an added twist, Sparkle found the treasure chest her father had stashed away inside the mansion, which contained valuables and Crit's old pirate outfit.
Crit's time as a pirate had come to an end, but the adventures of another Captain Crit will live on.
Now this is very interesting. I've always kind of wondered who Sparkle Star's parents were, and what sort of involvement they might have in her life. It's really kind of exciting to know that her father is a pirate and that, from the sound of things, he might possibly pass his legacy on to his daughter. It's a shame that he and Sparkle's mother have parted ways, but he sounds like quite an awesome kitty. And if Sparkle ever decides to put together a pirate crew of her own, well, this is one booty she can plunder any time!
This is a really adorable picture, too. Sweltering did an amazing job with this! It's a bit sad because of the torn away section, and the rift between her parents. But it's nice to know that her dad does love her and that they may have so much in common.
