Character Sheet for Dr. Antoine Dyer
Nickname(s)
Dr. Illdritch
Sex/Gender
Male
Species
Dog-Illithid Hybrid
Background/History
While studying an ancient culture which worshipped primordial gods, he received an ancient tome from a colleague with said tome turning out to be connected to the civilization he was researching. As he studied the book, Dr. Antoine Dyer became more and more enthralled by it eventually performing a ritual from within the pages to glimpse into the realm of the elder gods. This experience left him insane, believing himself to be the prophet of the Elder Gods and the one to usher in their conquest of Earth. After a crime spree and several ritualistic murders, Dr. Dyer became infamously known as the supervillain Dr. Illdritch. Originally a dog, he became mutated by eldritch magics which made him a dog-illithid hybrid. Since his metamorphosis, Dyer gained psychic abilities ranging from telekinetic concussion blasts to inducing horrific illusions in the minds of his opponents that drives them insane. This transformation also made it easier for him to use eldritch magics which he continues to grow more adept with. The threat level of Dr. Illdritch among the superhero community is often changing. Thanks to his insanity, his skill for schemes ranges sporadically between apocalyptic proportions to ridiculously nonsensical. One scheme, he’ll be retrieving key artifacts for a dimensional gateway to bring forth the elder gods, while a different scheme will have him mystically impregnating women with eldritch abominations to be the vessels of the elder pantheon ala Rosemary’s Baby. Whatever case, Dr. Illdritch is...well, one sick puppy.

Power Notes: -Magical Knowledge & Prowess: Thanks to tomes, scrolls, or artifacts during his criminal career, Dr. Illdritch has accumulated a great deal of mystical knowledge and has claimed to have been bestowed some magical boons via his deities. Spells which he’s often used have been teleportation, fire spells, ice spells, some form of poison spell, limited shapeshifting and transmutation spells. The transmutation spells have been some of the more dangerous surprisingly as not only as he used the spells to alter himself, he’s also used it on civilians to transform them into eldritch abominations to serve as minions or distractions. Other more powerful spells he’s used like portal conjuration, summoning of eldritch hordes and the rather absurd demon impregnation spell. As he amasses more magical items and tomes, there’s no real telling of what spells he might become capable of wielding.
-Psionic Abilities: An aspect of his magical augmentation, Dr. Illdritch has gained some enhanced mental capabilities while becoming unhinged because of it. His brain now possesses psionic abilities with some being common and other’s not as much. He of course has been documented as possessing fairly standard psychic powers like telepathy, telekinesis, concussive psionic waves, limited mind control, and limited psionic energy projection through producing a defensive shield. Another but less common power Illdritch possesses is psychic illusion projection but unlike some other psychics, Illdritch’s illusions can have devastating and potentially long lasting consequences. He claims that victims of this attack receive a glimpse of his masters’ realm. Side effects have included hysteria, newly formed phobias even complete mental breakdown. His most devastating attack is something he calls Psycho Break, where through some kind of psionic onslaught delivered at once on a person with the intent of shattering their psyche. This has lead to some devastating consequences like split personalities, paranoia, and even complete catatonia.
-Mutated Biology via Magic: It’s obvious by appearance that Dr. Illdritch has been altered. How much of it was his own doing and how much of it was ‘boons from his masters’ is uncertain but the point is prominent that he is now much more eldritch abberation than he is mortal dog. However, it’s not solely cosmetic, his biology has been altered as well. His body structure is similar to a feral cephalopod, able to contort in unnatural ways or squeeze through small holes or crevices which would be difficult because of a normal bone structure. This aspect has made him very slippery and he’s gained some minor aspects of regeneration of severed limbs, enhanced strength, and limited elasticity. As he continues to alter his form with further magic, there’s no telling what physical abilities he might gain in the future.

Here’s another character from Dairy Dame, this time a villain and one that DD will probably run into more often; Dr. Illdritch. Kind of pulling a bit from the character of Felix Faust and some love for the Cthulhu Mythos. I got an amusing idea or two for the not so good doctor to be involved in. Look forward to it.
