Only in a total eclipse would one witness the Eclipse Wind (a high wind that blows as totality starts) or the waves of light & dark over a long plain, as the refraction bands from the edge of the moon's shadow, as it crosses where you are.

Where I live (northwestern California), I've seen one annular eclipse and three partial eclipses (I missed the '79 total eclipse), but I'll be up in Oregon for the total eclipse, this time. :)
I'm currently looking for someone to draw my mouse character enjoying the eclipse...
