And here we have the cookie-loving Whachit, from the land of Otherside; where the trees are purple and the hues are the colors of the tide. Why not say hello to him when you get a chance? Mayhaps even embark on a playful little dance? Just don't dare say his name, or your human form will no longer be the same.

Why can't you say his name, you wonder? Why, it's because of his magical Whachit area of power! You too will become a Whachit, if even you so much as utter it. Simply don't say his name, however, and you will not be a Whachit!

However, that is easier said than done...

Not only can you not say it in a literal sense, but you cannot say it in spelling; you can write it down but out of your mouth it better not be "Hooma" in sounding.

Watch what you say, your sentence may seem completely innocent. The rule of the Whachit is very, very strict! It only takes one time for your sentence to be screwy, for if you do that then you will inevitably be toony!

"Hi, Hooma" is the obvious one to make you a Whachit, but now here comes the scary part; take careful note of it! Let's observe this sentence, with a careful eye...

"I must ask, who may be the one to take up this daunting task?"

Sounds like an innocent sentence? That's what the adventurer said before he became a Whachit in a wince! My warning was clear, it must not be his name in sounding...

"I must ask, who may be the one to take up this daunting task?"

And yet "Who may" is not on a dime with its sounding or spelling! What could he have done, what did he do wrong? I will explain to you so you will not have to think long.

Who may
WHO MAy
HOO MAy
HOO MA

The answer is quite clear and in tune with my warning: You cannot say his name in spelling or in sounding!
Of course with such a spell so easy to elude, this Whachit has a dirty trick for which a toony transformation is ensured.

Let's look at this sentence:

"I'm certain that those tools made my console into a friggin' brick!"

A more complex sentence, with no obvious name in sight. Yet, the one who said that became a Whachit, with his reaction being of fright! What did he do wrong?! There HAS to be an answer! Well, take heed to my words, and do not dismiss them as useless banter. When you say a word, a combo begins; it only takes one letter to start the magic, so let me continue explaining again:

"I'm certain that those tools made my console into a friggin' brick!"
I'm certain that those tools made my console into a friggin' brick!
those tools made
tHose tOOls MAde
H OO MA
HOOMA

A devious trick indeed, for it takes but a word containing a letter to sow the seed. The words containing the letters must be sequential in the "implied" spelling, so you can wound up saying it with the hardest of trying. Should you wish to save yourself, the trick is very simple:

"I'm certain that those pricey tools made my console into a friggin' brick!"

You need only to insert a word to break the combo; for it'll save you from a pickle!

Take my warning worth its weight in gold, for if you encounter Hooma, or any Whachit, remember what you are told.

PS: A Whachit has to be nearby for the toony word game to work. Neglected to mention that.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Okay so I accidentally spelled it as "Whachit" instead of the original "Whatchit". They both pronounce similarly anyway.

Anyhoo, my first time using colored lines (I did try it on the Gullible Image but someone neglected to save them, so here they are in saved fashion).

I seriously didn't realize how much my art had really, really changed. Compare the first image of this Whachit to this three year old image of and you can see how big of a difference this is. I didn't think the colored lines would work but they actually did, too! My how he has changed... His power got an upgrade too. He has a whole lot of new powers as well and a lot of new quirks, even his own language (as with all Whachits).

Hope you like, and be careful what you say.

PS: Nothing in this commentary triggered a Whachit transformation. ;O)
Wait a sec... I've just been informed otherwise.

"They both pronounce similarly anyway."
Both pronounce similarly...

Aw...crap.
