Neat. Had to look up the Grommet, somehow that design went under my radar. I must have missed something in my Technical Readout: Vehicle Annex. Last I knew, the Chaffee was the last thing added to that book.

Something about converted Industrial 'Mechs speaks to me. I think it's the very industrial and robotic look. I also like the Roughneck recently released via MWO.

Modified industrial mecha are cool in a RPG game.  ^_^
I had my players as a locust lance and put them up against some 65 ton mining mech mods...so LRMs and mining tools.  Dangerous at long or short range.  The PCs won in the end but it made them sweat.

This particular unit was actually a Solaris VII combatant. Same mass as the Grommet, but it had been up-engined to a 300 (giving it a movement speed of 4/6/0). The armament was nothing to scoff at, either, even though it was no Marauder, with an AC/10, 2 Medium Lasers, 3 Small lasers, and 3 machine guns, all supported with the wrecking ball.

I used to play MechWarrior the RPG with my friends back in Scouts/ventures. We of course had previously played a lot of Battletech, so MechWarrior was a really neat expansion into our gaming world.
One of my characters was a utility-mech pilot who had been living on a backwoods planet with a few old Logging mechs available for their pioneer type society. Gave him a good piloting skill but zero in gunnery. Explorer Corps had a fun design system for making Internal Combustion Engine mechs.
Character eventually joined a crew of Explorers and ventured off into the Periphery looking for Lostech.
Love your work doodles!
