The day so far hadn't been going too well. The grocery store was out of the carton eggs, so I had to settle for a basket of small ones. And the bus was late, too. At this rate, the eggs are gonna spoil...

My ear perked up as I heard something faint in the distance. Could it be the bus?

I looked down the road, my hopes lifted up. Maybe the bus was coming!

After staring down the road for what felt like forever, I realized that I hadn't actually heard the bus. My hearing must be more sensitive than I remember.

I settled down for a long wait. What a pain. At least my eggs won't spoil.

Gosh, at this rate the bus won't come until Easter. I'm gonna be way behind schedule...
