I think it looks a whole lot better with the fur mane. The wind was blowing when the photo was taken so the mane is sticking up a little but it does lie flat usually. The wings are lightly stuffed so they stick out a bit. The markings on the wings are hand sewn and in fact so are the eyelashes and outline all the way around the Cutie mark.
Also this plush stands by itself with no extra support. This was done with some careful positioning of the legs and stuffing the feet a whole load so they are quite firm.
