Chucky is facing an Out of Context Problem.
Chucky

He finds himself in that situation often.

At least it isn't "One of Our Planes is Missing."
Chucky
7 years, 11 months ago
Is that an actual song?
LordChaos

An actual movie.
Chucky

Oh, I'll have to look into it.

But one song you might want to play for Chucky is "Coming in on a Wing and a Prayer."  Might become his theme song.

Just one of a number of versions.
Chucky

Nice collection of images in the video. Hopefully Chucky isn't ever one of those missing planes.

Oh god... I remember being yelled at and told to go outside and not pester my mother... Aside from an atari that we ended up breaking(Obviously a joystick must be jammed in one direction or another while leaning to help the pixels move faster... =P)... and later a sega genesis that was never played(ie parents would never allow us to)... that was it for electronics for the most part. Entertainment was in the form of sand piles(oh how many army men and marbles my siblings and I buried to never find again(we used the marbles as our 'ammunition')), jungle like woods behind house... woods like woods in front of house, bike riding...

Hell, what I miss most about my childhood is camping. I still have a rare day in which I take my bicycle and ride... But I don't do things much anymore outside. Either because I'm stuck to my computer or lately because anxiety has taken its toll on me. I wouldn't mind meeting up again Chucky, perhaps with a few other local furs I've become friends with... Just... not sure when... not sure where... and even if plans are made... not sure if my mind would be nice enough to keep the anxiety away.

I know a couple of us would like to hike at least one trail in the gorge... though the trail in question from what I've seen isn't a novice type trail. I would so much like to do it though.
Chucky
7 years, 11 months ago
I'd love to go hiking or meet up with some other furs. Let me know. I think the gorge is still fairly inaccessible due to snow. I attempted to hike Mt. Hamilton a few weeks back and it was very treacherous.
Kianala

Oh I didn't mean right now =P. But when the gorge becomes accessible again.

"I don't really listen to music. "

I would have been SO judgmental about that statement at sixteen.
Chucky
7 years, 11 months ago
I was about Chucky's age when I really started finding music. I will eventually make this a bigger issue in the comic as Chucky finds himself socially behind his peers.

One of Arnie's *Arnold Schwarzenegger* first movies after Terminator that helped establish him as a true action star. Great score and it has Rae Dawn Chong as well. It's TOTALLY 80's and lots of fun. :D
Chucky

I think I can watch it on Netflix. Maybe tonight.

That movie must be the Chuky-world version of Die Hard

DIE HARD!

Think a combination of Die Hard and Full Metal Jacket, but with airplanes.

My favorite band is rubber. :p

By that age, I'd finally settled on classical music being my thing.  However, even before then, I disliked rock music and refused to acknowledge rap as bona fide "music".  I've changed since then.  Nowadays, I include things like metal, funk, and caterwauling cats in heat with rap. :p

Vincent trying to escape something?  Aren't we all? :p

I notice you didn't mention dubstep. I have to think that was intentionally omitted.

Weird Al Yankovic was my first venture into a particular musician/songwriter. Prior to that, I had a few soundtracks on tape and that's it. I was 12 or 13.

OMG I'm in Chucky's boat XD I hardly know any actors/singers or anyone famous at all XD I know a decent handful but that's about it XD
Chucky
7 years, 11 months ago
I know the actors from when I was younger, no idea who most of them are now. I was definitely more knowledgeable about music when I was his age though.

Ok, I am not a very social person. Nor am I necessarily "hip" with people, and my tastes tend to differ wildly from my peers. But even if I lived under a rock, I don't think I would be able to live without music. And maybe I don't necessarily have a favourite song, but I could certainly list off endless numbers of bands, songs, and just general themes I enjoy. Trying to imagine living without music in my life is like trying to imagine being blind or being deaf or something similar. Sure, it would be possible, but I would miss out so much of the beauty and awe in the world for it.
Chucky

I'm with you man. But there was a time when I knew a few songs by sound only and couldn't identify anything by name or artist.

Awesome job and not gonna lie the weird al reference threw me off for a sec. love how you had him sing midnight star a true weird al classic
Chucky
7 years, 11 months ago
It's one of my most favorite Weird Al songs EVER! Great lyrics and just musically a joy to listen to. I like that it's an original as well, not a parody. Although reading some Youtube comments, people brought up that he's doing a bit of an early Bruce Springsteen style, which I can certainly here.

Vince and Kevin seem to have an interesting relationship. They can be at each others throats but there's a commonality to them that seems to be their bond. LOVE the panel where they're plotting to show Chucky that movie. It's really a nice compliment to their relationship. :D

Also they HAVE to show him "The Room!" .....or..maybe not! :D
Chucky

Kev and Vincent's relationship is like a lot of relationships I remember from living in the dorms. So many guys I remember going from being total buds to getting at each others' throats and back again.

Like Chucky, mrs. Muzzle professes a lack of interest in movies or music. However, she once asked to go to a 'Weird Al' concert, and she LOVED it. That must mean something.
Chucky

Vincent have a short attention span or is he just easily forgiving?
Chucky
7 years, 11 months ago
He's easily forgiving, for the most part. He's very patient and knows that he's stuck with Kev. He's good at making the best of a situation.

I've noticed something over the last few chapters. Chucky is very judgmental. I can appreciate this as it gives him a pretty glaring flaw.
